Surprise! Niecy Nash is married! The “Claws” actress just revealed she tied the knot with singer Jessica Betts. Folks originally thought the marriage announcement post was from a music video or a scene from “Claws,” but it appears to be the real deal. More inside….
Life after two divorces is damn good for Niecy Nash.
The “Claws” actress and singer Jessica Betts both announced on social media that they’ve tied the knot! But wait, what?
At first, it was unclear if this marriage happened in real life, if it was scene from a music video or a scene from “Claws,” especially since Jessica starred in an episode in 2018. But, nope. It’s real. They secretly wed, according to Entertainment Tonight, during an outdoor ceremony recently.
"Mrs. Carol Denise Betts. @jessicabettsmusic #Love Wins @robertector,” the 50-year-old actress, whose real name is Carole Denise, captioned her wedding photo. The “Reno 911” starlet wowed in a white strapless wedding gown alongside her new wife who was dressed in a tailored off-white suit.
”I got a whole wife @niecynash1 # Bettsofbothworlds #LoveWins,” Jessica captioned.
Niecy's celeb friends - like Kym Whitley - hopped in her comments to congratulate her on finding love:

On IG Stories, Niecy shared a photo of herself and her new wife all cuddled up after the big announcement. She wrote "plot twist" on the photo along with a rainbow emoji:
Their union may come as a sudden surprise to most, but it seems Niecy and Jessica have known each other for a few years. As we previously said, Niecy worked with Jessica on a "Claws" episode a few years ago. The award-winning actress shared some behind-the-scenes clips featuring Jessica on her IG back in 2018:
"#BTS One of my favs @jessicabettsmusic this was my [character's] wedding song," Nash, who plays Desna Simms on the series, explained at the time. "It didn’t make it in the final cut but I love it! for her singing MUCH better than me."

This marks the "When They See Us" actress' third marriage. From 1994 - 2007, Niecy was married to Don Nash - who was a pastor - and they share three children. In 2011, Niecy married Jay Tucker. In December 2019, she filed for divorce, two months after they called it quits. Their divorce was finalized in March 2020.
In February, the EMMY nominated actress opened up about her divorce during her Vanguard Award acceptance speech at Essence’s 13th annual Black Women in Hollywood luncheon ahead of the 92nd Academy Awards.
“Pain is putting things in necessary order. You’ve got to acknowledge how you feel. Trust that it is so much easier to walk in your shoes than it is run towards a lie. You’ve got to own the part you play. I encourage you to walk in your truth, live your trauma and live your best damn life,” she continued.
And that's exactly what she's doing.

Jessica Betts is a singer from Chicago who began her music career in 200 after landing a record deal with Restless Records. She dropped her debut album before parting ways with the label shortly after. Jessica became the winner of "The Road To Stardom With Missy Elliott" in 2005. After the show, she then released another album titled Jessie Pearl internationally. Throughout her career she has worked with big names like Missy Elliott, Timbaland and Brian Michael Cox.
Looks like love really does win.
