When tweeting too much lands you behind bars!

Today, Tory Lanez made his way to the Los Angeles courthouse for a hearing in the Megan Thee Stallion felony assault case. The result? He ended up being handcuffed in court and had his bail INCREASED after a judge ruled he violated the protective order in the case. Womp.

Judge David Herriford heard almost an hour of arguments about the Canadian singer’s tweets and the judge felt some of his tweets seem to be “clear messages” to Meg, according to Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillion.

The tweets in question come from the heated Twitter feud that involved Meg, Tory and Meg’s boyfriend Pardi back in February, following the last court hearing.

The tweet Tory posted where he directly addresses Meg as “U” was a violation of a protective order because he was not supposed to contact of mention Meg at all.

”Good d*** had me f***ing 2 best friends ... and I got caught ... that's what I apologized for ... it's sick how u Spun it tho …,” Tory tweeted. “…. u can’t buy and tweet your way out of this one.. not today.”

Prosecutors also brought up concern over DJ Akademiks’ tweet that seemingly kicked off the feud.

”BREAKING: It was revealed in court few moments ago that Tory Lanez DNA WAS NOT found on the weapon in the Meg Thee Stallion case," the tweet read.

The SAVAGE raptress responded to the drama in a series of posts on her IG account:

After being handcuffed in court, Tory Lanez was remanded to custody until he posts a new bail of $350,000. The judge also added a new condition to his release, saying that he’s “not to mention the complaining witness in this case in any social media.”

Hours before he was handcuffed, Tory tweeted:

”God will make a table for you in the presence of your enemies.”

In October 2020, Tory Lanez was charged with a felony count of assault in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. If he’s convicted, he faces a possible maximum sentence of 22 years and 8 months in prison. He has pleaded not guilty.

The Canadian singer will have to keep his Twitter fingers on lock as the trial date has been set for September 14th.
