Who knew “Empire” would bring together one of our fave YBF couples and THEN a baby?! Trai Byers, 39, and Grace Gealey Byers, 38, met on the set of the hit FOX series and the rest is history. They fell in love, got engaged, jumped the broom, and now they’re preggo!
The "Harlem" actress attended her husband's Broadway opening night of The Piano Lesson on Friday. Grace announced their pregnancy in an Instagram post, sharing photos from the red carpet while holding her growing belly, and writing a super sweet message to her six-year-husband.
"Happy Opening Night on your Broadway Debut, my beloved King!,” she wrote in the caption of pictures that show her and Trai holding her belly. “Words absolutely fail when it comes to describing how deeply and overwhelmingly proud we are of you, @traibyers.”
Trai made his Broadway debut Thursday night (October 13th) at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, where August Wilson's revival of The Piano Lesson, starring Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, and Danielle Brooks, premiered.
The "Phoenix" actress shared a photo of her husband the Broadway stage and wrote a beautiful tribute to him.
”You are the most remarkable artist, talent, husband and man. Watching you make your @thepianolessonplay Broadway debut last night made my heart swell until it burst into a million pieces. My spirit is still soaring, for you are a magnanimous talent that continues to leave me spell-bound and perpetually in awe.

In 2016, Grace & Trai tied the knot in an intimate beachside wedding on Grand Cayman after getting engaged a year before in July 2015 on Grace’s 31st birthday. After getting married, the Byers covered The Byers graced the cover of Cayman Vows magazine to help launch the publication.
