Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition has indeed improved....and The Houstons & The Browns have finally agreed on that. But this doesn't mean her quality of life has been determined. Get the latest updates inside...
Yesterday, The Houstons and The Browns put out dueling statements that painted two different pictures of Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition. After telling a Dallas crowd during his performance the night before that BK is awake and watching him, Bobby Brown seemed to be alerting the world that his baby girl had a miraculous recovery. His sister Tina Brown seemed to co-sign the sentiments on her Facebook page.
The Houston family, namely Cissy, quickly refuted what the Browns had to say. The Houstons told media sources that Bobbi Kristina is "... in the exact same condition she was in when she went into the facility." The Houston family rep also said they're not sure why The Browns have such different information.
Afterwards, Bobby Brown put out a statement via his lawyer that confused the masses even further:
"Due to the numerous requests for an elaboration of the comments made by Bobby Brown on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his concert in Texas, there is a need to clarify the reports on the condition of Bobbi Kristina. Bobbi Kristina’s condition has changed since moving from Emory University Hospital and there has been improvement. Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life. However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come. We thank everyone that supports Bobbi Kristina. And God is hearing our prayers."
Fast forward to this morning where the two families seem to have come to an understanding. Yes, Bobbi Kristina can technically breathe on her own, but she is still outfitted with a trach.
TMZ reports:
The Houston family is now changing their tune, saying Bobbi Kristina is OFF life support, but they continue to maintain there's no real hope for recovery.
The Houston family now tells TMZ, Bobbi Kristina is breathing without the assistance of a ventilator. They say, "According to the doctors she's breathing on her own but the trach has to stay."
But the family still maintains Bobbi Kristina has "global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive."
The point of contingency appears to be how long term care and rehabilitation will be handled. And the definition of "living and breathing." These are impossible decisions for any family to make. We'll keep The Houstons, The Browns, and Bobbi Kristina in our prayers.
