On a recent episode of "Oprah: Where Are They Now?", comedian D.L. Hughley shared a touching story about his son Kyle, who has Asperger (or Asperger's) syndrome. He also discussed his own infidelity and why he doesn't believe monogamy is natural. Watch the clips inside...
All jokes aside, fans saw a different side of D.L. Hughley this Saturday when he appeared on "Oprah: Where Are They Now?"
D.L., a father of three, broke down while discussing his 26-year-old son Kyle, who has Asperger's syndrome. Kyle was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome as a child and must stick to a very regimented schedule.
In the clip below, he shares a story about Kyle putting gas into the car, and how it was such a big step for him.
"He graduated from college but everything has to be the same. He goes to work at the same time. He eats the same thing."
D.L. shared that he needed gas one day and Kyle said, "Daddy, I'll do it.'"
He continued,
"I'm a nervous wreck... So he comes back in and he gives me the receipt and the keys. And I could not stop crying, because he did something he was afraid to do … I just didn't believe he could do it. He did it. And I held him and I said, 'You're gonna be all right.' And I think sometimes I don't know for sure, but he's gonna be fine. He'll be fine."
On his son's struggle...
On finding happiness...
By the way, D.L. also discussed cheating on his wife, LaDonna, on numerous occasions. In the clip below, D.L. explained why he never thought that infidelity was wrong. Do we believe there is VALID scientific proof, or is he (and others) simply justifying certain actions of men?
"Oprah: Where Are They Now?" airs Saturdays at at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
