The unsealing of a 2005 deposition where comedian Bill Cosby admits to giving women drugs has social media on fire! Get the deets inside...
Over the weekend, The New York Times dropped a bombshell. The paper obtained a 2005 deposition where the comedy vet admits to using his fame, influence and drugs to have sex with women. The admission came after four days of intense questioning at a Philadelphia hotel following the filing of a lawsuit by Andrea Constand, who accused him of molesting her. The case was settled out of court.
We learned about the drug when lawyers questioned him about his sexual behavior in the 70s. He revealed that he'd obtained seven Quaalude prescriptions from his doctor for back pain...but used them for other purposes.
“Quaaludes happen to be the drug that kids, young people were using to party with and there were times when I wanted to have them just in case.”
The deposition also details Mr. Cosby's extensive extramarital affairs (at least five encounters are described in the docs) where he speaks in a first-person narrative about rendezvous that he said sometimes danced on the line between "permission and rejection."
At one point he described the encounter with Andrea (whom he'd given a Benadryl to relieve "stress and tension") this way: "I don't hear her say anything. I don’t feel her say anything. And so I continue and I go into the area that is somewhere between permission and rejection. I am not stopped."
So......in Bill's mind, the women knew what they were taking...and they didn't say no.
You can read portions of the deposition via the NY Times now, but we have a feeling there's more to come. While we expect more "testimony" to emerge in the coming days, we also imagine Bill's legal team is working to stop this.
One of his lawyers, Patrick O'Connor, told The Philadelphia Inquirer that the transcript of the deposition was one-sided because Andrea Constand's deposition remained sealed. "How that deposition became public without being court-sanctioned is something we are going to pursue and deal with very vigorously."
Although the world is talking, Mr. & Mrs. Cosby are silent and they haven't personally addressed this latest bombshell. Should they?
