BLESSINGS ON BLESSINGS! Wendy Williams Offers To Publish & Produce Hip Hop Journalist Dee Barnes' Book & Movie!

Hip Hop journalist Dee Barnes appeared on the "Wendy Williams Show" today and received a double blessing! Deets on Wendy Williams using her resources to help Dee tell her story to the world inside...

#BlackGirlMagic unfolded on television today!

Hip Hop journalist Dee Barnes appeared on the "Wendy Williams Show" today after she made headlines for making a GoFundMe account to keep her from getting evicted.

Last month, the pioneering hip-hop reporter and former "Pump It Up!" host, who is the mother of three daughters, opened up about facing eviction from her home if she didn't come up with the money. She ended up raising over $30,000 before she shut the campaign down.

Today, she chopped it up with Wendy to explain how she went from interviewing and rubbing elbows with celebrities to almost being kicked out of her residence.

She shared details about how Dr. Dre allegedly assaulted her back in 1991. She said she was at an industry party when Dr. Dre approached her following an interview she did with former N.W.A. member Ice Cube. In the interview, Cube trashed N.W.A. and Dre was pissed. While at the party, she said she and Dre made eye contact and he quickly turned his back. She said his actions shocked her because she thought they were cool.

While standing near a flight of stairs, she said Dre walked up to her and literally picked her up by her hair and started slamming her head into the wall. Dre allegedly had one of his bodyguards holding everyone at gun point so that no one would step in. The one person who did try to help was allegedly pistol whipped and had two teeth knocked out. She was able to get away from him and run into the women's bathroom. He allegedly followed her into the restroom and assaulted her there as well. Wendy probed her for more details, asking if the assault she allegedly endured in the bathroom was sexual. Dee got quiet and then said she wasn't ready to talk about it.

After the alleged assault, she was blackballed from the industry. His influence kept her from getting hired for jobs. In 2015, Dre released a blanket apology to "all of the women he hurt" in the past. You'll recall, his ex/singer Michel'le also accused him of abusing her during their relationship.

Dee revealed Dre never directly apologized to her. After he issued that public apology to all the women he hurt, Dee wrote an article in response. You can read it HERE.

Dee said she struggled landing jobs in the industry and ended up working several retail jobs. She said she was working a movie ticket booth when Straight Outta Compton was released. Wow. While she was working, it still was hard for her to keep her bills paid, which is why she made the GoFundMe account. Dee revealed she was in the process of writing a book to tell her story, but didn't know how to get started.

The newly liberated Wendy Williams stepped in and offered to publish Dee's book (via her Hunter Publishing company) and also produce a movie (via Wendy Williams Productions) for the book! Woot! The daytime talk show host also teamed up with HotelPlanner.com who donated $15,000 to help Dee and her daughters get back on their feet. YAS! We'll add a video of the interview once it's available.

It's soooo refreshing to see black women empowering and uplifting other black women! We wish Dee Barnes nothing but the best!
