Days after 18-year-old Kevin Hunter Jr. was arrested for assault, he stepped in Washington D.C. with his mother, Wendy Williams, on Thursday. The mother-son duo - all dressed up - trekked through the rain as they made their way to a gala event.
Kevin Jr. - who's home from college - was arrested in New Jersey following a physical fight with his father, Kevin Hunter Sr., earlier this week.
It was reported Kevin Sr. & Jr. got into a physical altercation in a store parking lot near their old New Jersey home around 9:50pm Tuesday night in West Orange. Kevin Sr. allegedly put his son in the headlock and Kevin Jr. reportedly punched him in the nose to break free. Cops revealed they were investigating the "incident" and they ended up arresting Kevin Jr. for assault.
It was first reported they got into it over Kevin Sr.'s request for spousal support from Wendy. Then, it was reported the fight started when Kevin Sr. urged his son to carve his own path to success and that he needed to do so without handouts from his mother. Pot, meet kettle.
“I love my son very much and I will not be pursuing this matter legally,” Kevin Sr. said in a statement. “Things are not always how they appear.”
The daytime talk show host - above At SNAXSationalBrands.com Booth At Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago this week - pulled the trigger on her divorce from Kevin Sr. back in April amid rumors that he was cheating. Not only that, he allegedly got his mistress, massage therapist Sharina Hudson, pregnant.
Before Wendy filed for divorce, sources claim Kevin Sr. and his son were very close. After Wendy filed for divorce, Kevin Sr. claims that's when their relationship started going downhill. He believes Wendy has been sabotaging his relationship with their son by telling him about their personal issues. He claims he has made several attempts in recent weeks to spend time with his son, but Kevin Jr. either doesn't respond or he'll send one-word responses.
As you know, Wendy fired Kevin Sr. and her manager and he was booted off the "Wendy Williams Show" as executive producer. It's rumored he left with a $10 million bag. Hmph.
In the divorce documents, Kevin Sr. is requesting spousal AND child support.
