Kelly Rowland Airs Out Her Frustrations Of Feeling 'Second Best'

Kelly Rowland is a musical force that took over the world as a member of Destiny's Child. The girl group - consisting of Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams - amassed more than 150 million records worldwide, won several Grammy Awards, and served as an inspiration to a younger generation of artists.

While she found success within the group, the 38-year-old singer has always felt like "second best" when it comes to being compared to her "sister" Beyonce.

The R&B songbird is featured in the newest episode of Red Bull Music Studio Sessions, which gives fans an inside look at the creative process behind Kelly's new EP that was recorded at Red Bill Studios in L.A.

Fans get a true behind-the-scenes look into the world of creating and improvising on music as a diverse cast of young songwriters and producers, including pineappleCiti, Alex Saad, P. Wright, Jordan Douglas and producers TWhy Xclusive, Lord Quest and Fabian Mazur - work closely alongside the Grammy Award winner on songs, “Don’t You Worry,” “See Me,” and “Diamonds” all from her new EP, The Kelly Rowland Edition, which released on May 18th.

In a mini doc, the "Dirty Laundry" singer opened up about feeling "second best" as a member of Desiny's Child and even after.

“The elephant in the room for me has always been second best,” Rowland says. “That’s actually the first time I said it out loud.”
