Issa Rae is totally our spirit animal. Check out her hilarious acceptance speech and Viola Davis serving up fierceness at the 2019 Women In Film gala inside...

Listen, Issa Rae is THAT chick!
The "Insecure" star/creator was honored for her entrepreneurial spirit at this year's Women In Film Gala that was held in Beverly Hills to celebrate some of the most accomplished women in entertainment.

Forget being humble. Forget being politically correct. It was her night and she owned it!
As the inaugural recipient of the Emerging Entrepreneur Award, the actress/writer/director/producer followed the blueprint of her favorite Hip Hop idols for her acceptance speech. Issa said none of her music faves are humble, so while writing her speech, she decided to embrace this moment in honor of them. And that's what she did. The two-time Golden Globe nominee said she was just going to say the opposite of, “What I would normally say" and hilarity ensued.
“You future hoes need to bow down,” Rae said. “Entrepreneur means I did that sh*t by myself.”
Bloop.

Oscar winner Viola Davis was tapped to present the Crystal Ward for Advocay in Entertainment to former Women In Film president Cathy Schulman. #HairGoals!

If you didn't know, Viola and Cathy are producing The Woman King together.
“In a world that has a bad habit of erasing us Girls—of denying our history, our voices, our very personhood—we need champions like Cathy Schulman to drag that world kicking and screaming into the present, and on to the future," Viola said.

During Cathy's speech, she talked about winning an Oscar for producing the film "Crash," but said she never made a dollar from the film, which earned almost $100 million at the box office. Sheesh! Insane.

Curls for the girl. Gorge.

Sorry To Bother You star LeKeith Stanfield and "The First Wives Club" star Ryan Michelle Bathe were in the mix.

Actress and host Xosha Roquemore - who recently welcomed a baby with Lakeith Stanfield - hit the carpet in a gorgeous emerald green one-shouldered dress before leading the ceremony.
