Whoopi Goldberg's recent comments on "The View" are stirring up conversation. Find out what the EGOT said about Bella Thorne's "leaked" nudes and how she defended presidential hopeful Joe Biden amid racism allegations inside...
Actress Bella Thorne made claims that her phone got hacked and blackmailers threatened to release her intimate photos if she didn't pay up. Instead of coughing up the cash, she decided she would expose her own nudes, attached with a lengthy caption, on Twitter as a way to get ahead of the "leak" and reclaim her "power."
"For the last 24 hours I have been threatened with my own nudes," she wrote on Twitter. "I feel gross, I feel watched, I feel someone has taken something from me that I only wanted one special person to see."
"For too long I let a man take advantage of me over and over and I’m . . . sick of it,” she wrote. “I’m putting this out because it’s MY DECISION NOW U DONT GET TO TAKE YET ANOTHER THING FROM ME. NOW U DON'T GET TO TAKE YET ANOTHER THING FROM ME," she added.
The ladies on "The View" addressed the Hot Topic and everyone wasn't feeling sympathy for the actress/singer. Listen, Whoopi wasn't here for it. At all. She aired out her frustrations about the situation, basically saying you just can't take photos like these as a famous person if you don't want them to be exposed to the world because once it's in the cloud, there's always a chance they can get out. Period.
"If you're famous, I don't care how old you are. You don't take nude pictures of yourself," Goldberg said. "Once you take that picture it goes into the cloud and it's available to any hacker who wants it, and if you don't know that in 2019 that this is an issue, I'm sorry. You don't get to do that."

After the show aired, Bella hopped on IG Stories to respond, calling Whoopi's comments shameful.
“Shame on you, Whoopi,” she said with tears. “Shame on you for putting that public opinion just out there like that, for every young girl to think that they’re disgusting for even taking a photo like that.”
Bella said she feels really bad about herself and she hopes she's so "f*ckin'" happy.

Folks have been sounding off on Twitter, some agreeing with Whoop and others accusing her of victim-shaming:
Whoopi Goldberg did not blame that girl she was just saying that teenage girls and young girls need to be careful. #BellaThorne

Whoopi Goldberg DID NOT SHAME BELLA THRONE. All she basically said was that you shouldn’t have nudes laying around because anyone can leak them especially if you are a famous person. It was really just advice and Bella Thorne always has that victim mentality

Revenge porn IS ILLEGAL
Bella Thorne is the victim OF A CRIME
Those who argue against this are reproducing the idea of women not having autonomy over their bodies and sexualities
Point the finger at the MAN who did this AND Whoopi Goldberg for publicly forgiving a crime https://t.co/wWQD1LJz71— peach (@unorignel) June 20, 2019
whoopi goldberg blaming the girl for taking the nude in the first place rather than blaming the man leaking the nudes??? is essentially blaming a girl for wearing a short skirt rather than blaming the rapist.
whoopi ain’t shit, don’t try to change my mind.— K (@kaylaparnall) June 19, 2019
How are you gonna cry on the internet because Whoopi Goldberg told you not to take nudes SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY COULD BE STOLEN.
That's not slut shaming that just common sense at this point. After "the fappening" you know the possibility of being hacked.
Bella Thorne you are soft. pic.twitter.com/tccAZlKTMf

Hmm...so were Whoopi's comments victim-shaming, or was it an OG schooling a youngin' in the game? We can see both sides here.
Also...
Whoopi Goldberg's comments defending presidential hopeful Joe Biden has also sparked debate. If you haven't heard, Biden has been catching heat for comments he made that some interpreted to be racially insensitive.
At the event, former VP Biden talked about working with two colleagues, Herman Talmadge and James O. Eastland, who were vocal supporters of segregation.
"We got things done. We didn't agree on much of anything. We got things done,” said Biden. He also went on to say of Eastland, “I was in a caucus with James O. Eastland. He never called me ‘boy,’ he always called me ‘son.’”
Senator Cory Booker, who's also running for president, called Biden out on it and said he needed to apologize. Biden popped back:
“Apologize for what? Cory should apologize. He knows better. There’s not a racist bone in my body."
Then, Booker responded:
Vice President Joe Biden told me I should know better. As a Black man in America, here's what I know: pic.twitter.com/MbbrVbi3BJ

"The View" ladies discussed the topic and Whoopi held Biden - who visited the show last month - down:
“Don’t try to make him out to be a racist,” Goldberg said. “You don’t like some of the stuff he’s done, say that, but you can’t call the dude a racist. He sat for 8 years with a black guy,” she added.
Guest co-host Ana Navarro then chimed in, “I think Cory Booker is taking advantage of the situation to try to get some attention,” she said. “Joe Biden is not a racist. It’s why he’s got good, very strong support from the African-American community."

Here's some Twitter reactions to Whoopi defending Biden's controversial comments:
#TheView @TheView just because Joe Biden was a vice president for African American president Obama it doesn't excuse him from his racist comments or racially insensitive comments. No double standard. I can't believe that Whoopi Goldberg is excusing Joe Biden for his wrong doings

#WhoopiGoldberg #whooyou should be ashamed of yourself defending his comments we know y'all push Biden you sold your soul man how dare you should quit

Correction: Whoopi seems to be the only one to understand the point Biden was trying to make. Congress needs to grow up and work together. Cory Booker wake up!

Agree 200% with Whoopie. Folks, knock it off! Stop nit picking every word the candidates say and listen to what they are really telling you. Agree / disagree, but STOP making mountains out of mole hills. Joe Biden is a man of incredible integrity and honor. He is no racist. (1/2)
