IT'S FINALLY OVER! Meek Mill 'Beats The Streets' As Longstanding Case Comes To An End, Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor

Meek Mill has been fighting for his freedom for over a decade after he copped a drug & gun conviction in 2008. And now, it's finally over.

After getting his case overturned in July, the Philly native was inching his way to the light of the end of the tunnel. However, it wasn't a sure thing that he would be free free. However, it is now.

This week, the CHAMPIONSHIPS rapper pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor firearm charge in Philadelphia, which resulted in prosecutors dismissing all remaining counts against him and the judge imposed no further penalty.

"Meek free! I'm not on probation no more," Meek yelled to crowd gathered outside the courthouse in Philadelphia's Center City. "I just wanted to come up here and thank all the supporters, because I know y'all probably have family members in jail or people going through the same thing as me. I will continue to do what I do with the reform movement and help the people that help me."

"I really put that shit behind me today ..... I beat the streets," Meek tweeted.

The 32-year-old rapper was tangled up in the unjust judicial system where he was being punished for accusations made against him that couldn't be proved in a court of law. The evidence brought against him undermined the credibility of the officer who testified against the rapper at his trial. He was a key witness in the trial, but it turns out he was a "dirty cop."

Now-retired police officer Reginald Graham testified during Meek's trial that the rapper pointed a gun at him while being busted for drugs outside his southwest Philadelphia home. Officer Graham - who now lives in Florida - left the force a few years ago after he was investigated internally.

Over the years, Meek was at war against Philadelphia trial judge Genece Brinkley, who oversaw his case and accused the rapper of not following the rules of his probation. In November 2017, Judge Brinkley sentenced Meek to 2-4 years in prison for violating his probation. He was arrested in NYC for riding a dirt bike. A fan posted a video of the rapper on the bike to social media and he was hauled off to jail. Judge Brinkley caught hella backlash for her controversial role in Meek's criminal justice troubles. And the Philly rapper didn't let up when it came to calling her out for treating him unfairly.

After spending five months behind bars, the "Dreams & Nightmares" rapper was released from prison and he was granted bail in April 2018. Since his release, he has become the poster child for justice reform, serving as the co-chair of the REFORM Alliance and speaking out against the unjust judicial system.

"I have always told the truth — that as a teenager, who saw many around me die from senseless gun violence, I carried a gun for protection. I take responsibility for that and – in conjunction with my work on the REFORM Alliance – I’ll continue to use my platform to make communities safer and reform our criminal justice system," he told the crowd outside the courthouse.
