New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown just lost a shoe deal.
According to The Boston Globe, NIKE has cute ties with the star NFLer and he no longer has his shoe deal with the company. A NIKE spokesperson told the publication, “Antonio Brown is not a Nike athlete.”
The spokesperson was asked the specific reason Antonio was dropped and to clarify its timing, however, the spokesperson declined to answer.
In February 2019 (while AB was still a Steelers player), NIKE sold his “Nike Tech Trainer Antonio Brown” shoe. It featured Brown’s No. 84 and his phrase “Business is Boomin” on the tongue of the shoe. Now, it’s no longer available on NIKE’s website.

The announcement comes a little over a week after the NFL star was hit with a lawsuit from his former physical service trainer, Britney Taylor. She filed a civil complaint in the US District Court in Miami, accusing him of two sexual assault incidents in 2017 and rape in 2018. The lawsuit was filed three days after AB forced a trade from the Oakland Raiders to the New England Patriots.
If you haven’t heard, Xenith – a football helmet manufacturer – announced they were cutting ties with AB days after the lawsuit hit the headlines. He was supposed to wear the Xenith Shadow helmet this season after losing two appeals with the NFL to allow him to wear a helmet that was no longer certified by the league.
