Five men that were convicted for murdering Lesandro ‘Junior’ Guzman-Feliz have been sentenced to life in prison. More inside…

The five Trinitarios gang members convicted in the brutal murder of 15-year-old Lesandro ‘Junior’ Guzman-Feliz were sentenced today and they all were handed down life sentences. It was a case of mistaken identity. The men stabbed the Bronx teenager to death with a machete after dragging him out of a bodega last year. It was caught on camera and went viral.

Antonio Rodriguez Hernandez Santiago, 25, Jose Muniz, 23, and Elvin Garcia, 25, were each sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. 19-year-old Manuel Rivera was sentenced to 23 years to life behind bars. Jonaiki Martinez Estrella – dubbed the “executioner” - was sentenced to life without parole.

“These killers should never be able to step out of their jail cells,” said Leandra Feliz (Junior’s mother) in her moving victim impact statement. “I no longer have my kid. I don’t have someone to hug and kiss. My son should be in his junior year of high school, pursuing his dreams of being a police officer.”

Junior’s father Lesandro Guzman also shared his heartbreak:

“You will never have the ability to understand the pain you’ve caused when you decided to take the life of an innocent kid,” he said. “I will never forgive you for deciding to murder my son. You deserve to be punished for causing so much pain.”

Page Six reports:

Judge Robert Neary handed down the sentences separately in Bronx Criminal Court, first sending Jonaiki Martinez Estrella, 25, to prison for life without the possibility of parole for the heinous, caught-on-camera machete and knife killing of 15-year-old Guzman-Feliz on June 20, 2018.

Surveillance video shows that Martinez Estrella delivered the 4½-inch-deep knife blow to Guzman-Feliz’s neck that ultimately killed him, prosecutors have argued.

Judge Neary, who called Martinez Estrella the “executioner” of Guzman-Feliz, continued: “You destroyed a young life, condemned his family and yours to a lifetime of pain and despair.”

One of the mother’s of the convicted killers screamed and yelled after the sentencing, claiming her son was innocent:

Hmph.

A total of eight men, who have been identified by police as members of the Trinitarios gang, were arrested and charged for Junior's death. The rest are still awaiting trial.
