It Aint Her Fault! Lizzo Leads The Pack With 8 Grammy Nominations + Lil Nas X Gets 6, H.E.R. Scoops Up 5 & Michelle Obama Lands A Nod

Lizzo def has the Juice because the YBF Chick is leading the pack in Grammy Awards nominations! Meanwhile, Lil Nas X follows behind with 6 nominations, H.E.R. scooped up 5 nominations, and Forever First Lady Michelle Obama even made the list! More inside….

Awards season is in full effect! And the 2020 Grammy nominations are in.

Alicia Keys – who will be hosting the 2020 Grammy Awards for the 2nd year in a row – linked up with "CBS This Morning's" Gayle King and singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha to announce this year’s Grammy nominees on “CBS This Morning.”

Cute 'fit.

That DNA test Lizzo took was accurate AF. She’s 100% that B**** this Gramy season! The “Truth Hurts” singer had one hell of a year, and the Academy Awards took notice. This is the first time the “Good As Hell” singer has been nominated for a Grammy and chick killed it, scooping up the most Grammy nominations (along with Billie Eilish) out of everyone.

The super talented singer/rapper/twerker/flautist is nominated for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Album. Woot!

After the announcement, sis hopped on Instagram all choked up over the nods:

No surprise here!

Lil Nas X had the biggest song of the year, so we knew the Grammy nominations would be trickling in. Fresh from winning an award at the Country Music Awards with Billy Ray Cyrus, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” track and his 7 EP earned him 6 nominations, including Record of the Year, Album of Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Music Video. It’s his first time being nominated for a Grammy as well.

He couldn't believe it:

And that's not all for the newbie/young artists:

R&B singer H.E.R. received 5 nominations last year (she won 2) and she did it again this year! She’s the only artist to receive 5 noms both years. This year she’s in the running for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song.

Peep her reaction below:

Forever First Lady Michelle Obama isn't a musician, but she nabbed a Grammy nomination for Best Spoken Word Album for the audio version of her memoir Becoming. She deserves!

The late Nipsey Hussle received three posthumous Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap/Sung Performance categories. Two of the noms were for his track "Racks in the Middle," which was released six weeks before he gunned down outside of his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles.

We noticed that while Beyonce was snubbed from the major Grammy categories, she did land four nominations for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media for "Spirit" from The Lion King: The Gift, as well as Best Pop Vocal Album nod for the soundtrack as a whole, in addition to a Best Musical Film nod for the Homecoming documentary.

Meek Mill, 21 Savage, Tyler the Creator, YBN Cordae and Dreamville are all in the running for Best Rap Album. Offset & Cardi B, J. Cole, DaBaby, Dreamville, Nipsey Hussle are all in the running for Best Rap Performance.

Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna Boy copped a Grammy nod for the Best World Music Album.

Congrats & Good Luck!
