Damon Dash is responding to a $50 million sexual battery lawsuit that was brought against him by photographer Monique Bunn. A second woman has also come forward with sexual assault allegations against the Hip Hop mogul. Everything inside…
Damon Dash is being accused of sexual assault and battery by two different women. And he’s responding to the accusations.
A photographer named Monique Bunn filed a $50 million lawsuit in in U.S. District Court against the Roc-A-Fella co-founder for allegedly sexually assaulting her in April 2019. According to the lawsuit (obtained by The Wrap), Dame hired Monique Bunn (who was known for shooting Hip Hop artists) to do a shoot for his fashion company, Poppington, in association with his Damon Dash Studios.
After the first day of shooting, the photog said she went back to Dame’s residence that he shares with his partner Raquel Horn. She was planning to spend one night in Dame’s daughter’s room. Later that night Monique said Dame came in the room she was sleeping in and placed his hand on her breasts and other areas of her body.
“While Bunn was sleeping, Dash approached Bunn and placed his hand on Bunn’s breasts and placed hands/fingers on Bunn’s buttocks. Dash did not have the permission or consent to touch Bunn’s sexual organs,” the filing states.
“Dash was wearing a robe and had no underwear on. Dash had been drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana all day.”
In the filing, Monique accused Dame of lying about nabbing a TV deal with WEtv for a docu-series based on her life in an effort to “keep Bunn silent” about the alleged assault. The suit also claims Dame will NOT return Monique’s photographer equipment and hard drives of “20 years of Hip Hop culture photography.” Bunn claims they have her pictures of famous icons like Mary J. Blige, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Mase, Quincy Jones, Teddy Riley, Lil Kim, The Fugees, Missy Elliot, and more.
Monique is suing for the alleged sexual battery and the return of her property. Dame’s partner Raquel (above) is also named in the lawsuit, along with Dame, Poppington LLC and Damon Dash Studios, who she together accuses of theft by conversion and negligent emotional distress.
Monique’s attorney, Christopher Brown, spoke to The Wrap about the suit and said: “Ms. Bunn looks forward to having a jury decide the litigation.”
The Hip Hop mogul is now responding to the suit, specifically Monique's attorney. He posted a throwback video making claims that Chris Brown (the lawyer) is a culture vulture, he's trying to extort him, and claims he's trying to launch the Black #METOO movement. Peep his posts below:
"#ChrisBrownTheLawyer is a culture vulture," Dame wrote. "He is now trying to start the black Harvey Weinstein me too movement against me and he is representing another lawsuit with another allegation #ChrisBrownTheLawyer I’m gonna deal with this on a beach in Hawaii ... I will not be extorted... check your mans Collar at the end wait for it ...more depositions with #chrisBrownthelawyer coming soon!"
In the caption for another clip, he wrote, "This is what setting up a black man looks like live..first they come into your house, then they try to rob you...when they get caught they try to make a good guy look like a bad guy ..then try to extort you... #chrisbrownthelawyer is clearly the ring leader of this conspiracy...this is his third lawsuit he has personally filed against me in a year...from what I hear the FBI should be doing their job"
Amid these accusations, another woman has come forward with claims of sexual assault.
A woman who has been identified as T. Harper is accusing Damon Dash of rape and sexual assault that happened almost 20 years ago when she was a college student. In a notarized letter to the courts, she claims she was out in New York one night with friends when they ran into Dame, he invited them to a penthouse in Palisades, New Jersey, and he allegedly tried to rape her.
AllHipHop.com reports:
According to Harper, a friend called her back to the master bedroom of the penthouse, where she claims she encountered Damon wearing nothing but a towel.
"As he got closer, he took his towel off and began to play with his penis. I told him I was not interested in having sex. The friend who called me back, was nowhere to be found," according to T. Harper. That's when Harper claims Damon attacked her, threw her on the bed and aggressively tried to force her pants down. Harper maintains Damon tried to penetrate her with his penis, but he was unsuccessful because she clenched her vagina, tightened her legs and "continued to fight."
T. Harper claims Damon did stick his fingers in her vagina during the alleged encounter, which ended when Harper kicked him in his groin and fled the bedroom.
T. Harper said she wished she had come forward earlier about the alleged assault and regrets never telling the police and press charges.
"My Harvey Weinstein is Damon Dash. I don't want money, it's too late to file criminal charges. I do want the world to know Damon Dash is a rapist," T. Harper wrote in her letter, which was submitted to the court under the penalty of perjury.
This is a mess.
