Half of Netflix's budget - as Dave Chappelle so hilariously stated - took the stage Saturday night alongside their fellow king of comedy Eddie Murphy before getting into the most anticipated (and blackest) episode of the season.
Watch Eddie rehash his famous characters and piss off Bill Cosby in the process...
Eddie Murphy didn't come back to "SNL" for the first time in almost 35 years empty handed. He brought the homies Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Tracey Morgan along (and cast member Kenan Thompson) to give him some foolish skit suggestions. Eddie skipped out on their help, but it was still the blackest episode we've ever seen.
The Dolemite star rehashed his old acts - with a 2019 twist - that made him the famous "SNL" star that he is - Buckwheat, Mr. Robinson, Gumby, Velvet Jones and more. Kanye & Kim West and more were in the audience for the big night too.
These Holiday skits though - Ha!
Most people were raving about it all throughout the weekend. But there was one person who wasn't raving - Bill Cosby. During Eddie's monologue, he joked "Who's America's Daddy now?" He never thought he'd be back on SNL's stage, and def never thought Bill Cosby would be in somebody's jail.
Bill must have gotten a tv pass for the night.
Oh, he's real mad. Eddie remains unbothered though. Especially because the ratings are in - and Eddie gave the show its biggest ratings in 2.5 years with 9.9 million viewers. Now that's how you do a season finale. Sheesh.
