These Stories That Went Down In College Football Last Weekend Will Have You In Tears

Grab your tissues! The things that happened off the field during the college football gakes last weekend will have you in tears. More inside…

Guys, this one is real tearjerker, so don’t say we didn’t warn you.

In college football, it has been a long tradition for seniors to come out of the tunnel for the final game of their collegiate career with their family. Players usually tap their mom, dad and immediate family to join them for their final game.

Sadly, Michigan State University cornerback Josh Butler lost BOTH of his parents before his Senior Day game. However, he didn’t emerge from the tunnel alone. The 23-year-old player walked out onto the Spartan Stadium field by his two pet dogs, Roxy & Remi. And it was the cutest:

Roxy & Remi have become Josh’s closest family since the passing of his parents. His father, Steven Butler, died in November 2017. It’s reported he passed hours before Josh was set to play in a game against Penn State. In April 2019, his mother, Ladrida Bagley, passed away after she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.

He shared the video on his Instagram account and opened up about his struggle from losing both of his parents:

Definitely been a blessed journey since taking the greyhound bus as a kid all the way up to Michigan State, being able to prevail through losing my father in 2017, and seeing my mother pass away in my arms just this year in April from Cancer; it has strengthened me as a person, man of God, and leader. I love everyone who has had a impact on my life! My next big step in earning my Masters this December. Was great to be apart of the Dantonio Era! My Dogs mean the world to me! GO GREEN! I love y’all JBTV out May my angels keep watching over me above. In between the time of his father and mother’s deaths, he adopted 2-year-old Roxy & 7-month Remi, who are boxer-pit bull mix breed dogs. The pups are sisters and they’ve even become Instagram famous. Josh has an IG account dedicated to them where he shares cute videos dancing and playing with his dogs, and even dressing them up in Spartan gear, Halloween costumes and more.

Soak in the puppy curtness below:
