Nipsey Hussle lives on!
Ahead of a Grammy tribute for the late rapper, Lauren London attended a pre-Grammy event where she was presented with the Victory Lap rapper’s newly certified platinum plaques. While her soul mate is no longer here in the physical form, his music will live on forever.
Nipsey’s final album, Victory Lap (which was released a year before he was murdered in front of his Marathon Clothing Store), is now certified platinum. The news comes days before the 2020 Grammy Awards.

The west coast rapper/activist also recently earned eight gold records including "Blue Laces 2," "Rap Niggas," "Grinding All My Life," "Hussle & Motivate," "Dedication" featuring Kendrick Lamar, "Victory Lap," "Last Time I Checc'd" featuring YG and "Double Up" featuring Belly and Dom Kennedy. Also, “Racks In The Middle” is now platinum.

Nip is in the running for three Grammy Awards this year, including Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Racks In The Middle,” featuring Roddy Ricch & Hit-Boy along with Best Rap/Sung Performance for "Higher" with DJ Khaled and John Legend. Victory Lap was nominated for Best Rap Album in 2019.

In memory of Nip, Puma and The Marathon Clothing will reissue pieces from their collection together on February 1st. The collection is named “Hussle and Motivate,” carrying on the legacy of his clothing line. The pieces were first released in September 2019.
The “Hustle and Motivate” campaign feature’s Nip’s partner Lauren London and his homies YG, J. Stone, and Pacman Da Gunman.
A portion of the proceeds from the collection reissue will go to the Neighborhood Nip Foundation, which we know would make him proud. The collection ranges from $40 - $100 and will be available online and select retailers next month.
The "ATL" actress collaborated with PUMA last year where she released her own collection, "Forever Stronger." The video campaign featured a poem tribute to Nipsey.
Tomorrow, the Grammys will include a tribute to Nipsey Hussle. The tribute performance will feature longtime collaborator YG (who was just https://www.instagram.com/p/B7uyZm4lOoT/ ">released from jail on bond), DJ Khaled, John Legend, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, and Kirk Franklin.
“An activist, entrepreneur and rapper, Nipsey Hussle had a lasting impact on not just his community, but also the culture at large," Grammy Awards executive producer Ken Ehrlich said in a press release. “There is no denying the influence he had and his legacy will be felt for generations to come. We are honored to bring together this amazing group of artists to celebrate Nipsey’s life and pay tribute to his many contributions to music. It’s sure to be a memorable performance.”
