Halle Berry Will Represent Herself In Divorce From Olivier Martinez – Nope, Their Divorce Hasn't Been Finalized!

Apparently, Halle Berry is STILL married to Olivier Martinez…legally. Now, she’s representing herself in the final step of their divorce case. More inside…

Sometimes, you just must take matters into your own hands. Take note, that’s what Halle Berry is doing.

The Oscar winning actress has decided she’ll represent herself in her divorce case with her ex-Olivier Martinez. According to ET, the 54-year-old actress filed paperwork to represent herself instead of an attorney in her divorce case.

In the documents, Halle’s former attorney, Marina Zakiyan Beck, signed off on the change on July 30th. The John Wick actress signed off on the paperwork on August 11th. What’s interesting is that Olivier is using famed divorce attorney of the stars, Laura Wesser.

Maybe this is just a legal process and she didn’t want to waste her coins on lawyers. Also, this is her third divorce, so, maybe she feels she knows enough to finish it off. It seems there are some minor technicalities that still need to be worked out.

In October 2015, Halle & Olivier pulled the plug on their relationship and filed for divorce after two years of marriage. The couple shares a 6-year-old son, Maceo Martinez. They filed separately, citing irreconcilable differences and asking for joint custody of their son. You’ll recall, Halle had to amend her divorce filing after she used fake names. She was trying to throw the media off, but that didn’t work in her favor.

Even though the couple called it quits, they appeared to at least be friendly and things were seemingly on good terms. About five months after filing, Halle & Olivier were spotted enjoying a family beach day in with their son and Halle’s daughter Nahla Aubry (whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry). She was rubbing on his chest and everything looking very much like a reunited couple, but nah.

In September 2016, it’s reported the courts issued an ultimatum after they failed to move forward with their divorce. They were dragging their feet, but made it clear the divorce was “definitely still happening.”

In December 2016, it was reported that their divorce had been finalized, but nope! Apparently, Halle & Olivier hadn’t submitted their formal custody agreement (they were given joint custody), so they got a notice to appear in court. In the 2016 docs, Halle & Olivier were told they could claim “single” status until the rest of their issues were worked out.

Three years go by and they were still dealing with divorce. In 2019, the former couple got sanctioned for missing a court hearing in their divorce case. So, it sounds like Halle and Olivier need to submit a formal custody agreement to tie up these loose ends and finally get this divorce finalized.

Well, if that’s what they really want.
