Nessa, Black Eyed Peas Salute Breonna Taylor & Black Lives Matter At The VMAs

Radio and tv host Ness Nitty made sure to make a statement at Sunday night's VMAs.  Get into her statement jewelry to bring attention to the Breonna Taylor case and more inside.

If you're going to be speaking to millions of watchers during an Awards show, it's only right you pull double duty and demand justice as well.

Hot 97's Ness Nitty rocked a pair of eye catching earrings to salute slain emergency healthcare worker, Breonna Taylor. And she had a lengthy explanation as for hat it all means:

It’s been a blessing to co-host the @MTV VMAs pre-show the past few years. I’m always beyond grateful. I also know this is not a usual year and I felt it was important to express that. The cops ( Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove) who murdered Breonna Taylor in her sleep STILL have not been brought to justice. Police violence continues to terrorize Black and Brown communities and it is pretty clear it’s not stopping anytime soon. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of this horrific reality. Today is no different, Black Lives Matter forever

Nessa wasn't the only one.  Black Eyed Peas closed out the show - with a Fergie replacement that ended up trending on Twitter as no one knew what was happening:

 

The trio performed "Vida Loca" and also brought out Tyga to perform too. The light up crotch areas.....interesting.

At the end of their performance, the group yelled out "Wakanda Forever" to tribute Chadwick Boseman and also Black Lives Matter.
