Congrats are in order for Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert!
The married couple welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Rue Rose, just one day after they celebrated with the family and friends at their Boho-themed baby shower in Atlanta. Literally, one day after the baby shower, Rue Rose made her arrival. She wasn’t playing any games.
And guess what? She took a page out of her big sister’s blueprint on how to make a grand entrance. Tey & Iman have welcomed their second daughter in the bathroom without the assistance of a hospital – just like big sister Iman “Junie” Shumpert Jr. In 2015, Junie made a surprise entrance into the world in the couple’s bathroom while dad delivered her with help from a 9-1-1 operator.
Baby Rue Rose decided she would do the same thing!
"At 3:28 am on Sept 6th 2020 Rue Rose decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit,” the NBA baller wrote on Instagram. "She didn't make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!”
Iman was SHOCKED when he realized they would be delivering their second child in a bathroom just like his first.
"Now...when we buy homes, we always find a bathroom with great energy... but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital!”
Ha! Imagine!
“Our newest edition entered the world in the water and came out looking around and ready to explore! A healthy child. A little sister. Another daughter. Black love wins....again. Welcome babygirl...we love you!," he wrote.

Before Rue Rose’s arrival, Teyana said she was going to have singer Erykah Badu – who is a doula – help with a home birth. It looks like Badu was on the scene (either virtually or in person) for the birth because she thanked the couple for allowing her to assist with their new bundle of joy:
”They did that,” Erykah captioned a video of Baby Rue “Thank you both for allowing me to assist. Love, proud Badoula- aka “The welcoming Committee “ Shine Rue !!”
