Vivica A. Fox was a no-show for the Primetime EMMY Awards red carpet after testing positive for COVID-19. More inside…
Oh, no! COVID-19 invades this year’s EMMYs.
Vivica A. Fox had to skip out on the 2020 EMMY Awards red carpet after testing positive for COVID-19. The 56-year-old actress was supposed to host E!’s “Live From the Red Carpet” pre-show with Giuliana Rancic, but BOTH women had to opt out of the gig due to testing positive for the Coronavirus. Instead, the awards show tapped Nina Parker and Brad Goreski to fill in for the female hosts.
In a written statement (read by Brad), Vivica said she was self-isolating at home out of “an abundance of caution.”
“During these unprecedented times, it’s more important than ever that we follow all safety and health rules and guidelines to protect ourselves and each other,” she said.
In a video message, Giuliana - who has battled breast cancer in the past - revealed she and her entire family tested positive for the Coronavirus.
”Hey, everyone. As I go into my 20th year on the E! red carpet, I have to say I do not take missing an award show lightly,” she said. “But unfortunately, this year is just so different. As part of E! and NBC Universal’s very strict testing guidelines, especially before an event like this, I did find out that I tested positive for COVID-19.
”Now as much as I didn’t want to hear that, I’m very thankful I heard it before I traveled and possibly could have exposed other people. So for that, I’m thankful.”
Vivica and Giuliana were previously announced as co-hosts of the pre-show earlier this week.
We pray they both have a speedy recovery!
