YBF POLITICS: A'Shanti Gholar Knows Candidate Choices Are Often Wack, So Here's How She's Fixing That Through Candidate Incubator EMERGE

Natasha chops it up with Emerge President A'shanti Gholar about creating the candidates we NEED, instead of us just accepting the candidates hand picked by party establishments.

Just because you want better candidates that better reflect what you stand for doesn't mean you just don't participate in this election.  Still vote, even if you're doing so through clenched jaws.  But we're also all about preparing for the future and the now, too.

Candidate incubators, like Emerge, have recently popped up and have become what we think is the most innovative way to go against "the establishment."  These incubators have been grooming relatable, amazing women of color in various communities - who don't come into this as "politicians" - for high positions in government as well as local positions.  And they've been super successful on the progressive front getting their well prepped candidates elected in droves - like Ayanna Pressley and Lucy McBath.

We hear the complaints about there "not being a good candidate on any side" for irtually any posotion on the ballot.  We get it.  So, YBF women like A'shanti have stepped up to the plate - like Black women always do - to change that. We no longer HAVE to rely on the DNC or RNC Chairs to choose who they think is best to run for the party.  Candidates, whether they identify with those parties or as independents, can get backing, support and development resources from other places like Emerge, and actually WIN.

2020 is on par to have several more EMERGE candidates, now in the hundreds total, on ballots.  And many are on their way to a win this November.  It's a whole movement and it's impressive AF. Listen and/or watch above!

Follow A'shanti on Instagram and Emerge on Insta too.

Vote NOW and vote EARLY if your state allows it!  If not, show up at those polls on November 3rd. IwillVote.com has all the details for your state!
