2020 has been a crazy year for all of us, but even crazier for Iyanna “YaYa” Mayweather – boxing champ Floyd Mayweather’s daughter. She’s currently facing a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge after she allegedly STABBED her boyfriend NBA Youngboy’s son’s mother. Months later, she went viral in a TikTok video where she appears to be pregnant with the 20-year-old rapper’s fifth child. Sighs…
The undefeated boxing champ has kept quiet about his daughter and her boyfriend making headlines…until now. Mayweather chopped it up on "Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee: Uncensored" via Fox Soul where he shared how he feels about his daughter’s situation.
“Always want the best.” Floyd said adding, “If that makes her happy, then we’re happy — me and her mother [Melissia Rene Brim] are happy. What I try not to do is be in her personal business because once she’s no longer under my roof, then you know what? it’s between her and her better half.”
The boxing champ also addressed the comments NBA Youngboy (real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden) made when he referred to Mayweather as Yaya's "b*tch a** daddy."
“Well, my thing is this: it has to do with your upbringing. It starts in the home first, Floyd, 43, explained to Lee. “What I’ve always taught my daughter is this: always be respectful when you’re going to anyone’s home. And whatever goes on in your home, don’t talk about it to the world. As far as NBA… I look at NBA YoungBoy as a child. I can’t get upset with a kid like that.” He went on to say, “It could’ve been one of those days for him.”
“At the end of the day, I only want the best for them,” Floyd concluded.
NBA Youngboy’s mom, Sherhonda Gaulden, caught wind of Floyd’s comments about his upbringing and she responded. Here’s what she had to say:
As of now, Yaya awaits trial for the felony assault charge.
