LeBron James is out indefinitely after suffering a high right ankle sprain during the Lakers game against the Atlanta Hawks. He’s keeping his spirits high and is already talking about his road to recovery. Also, King James recently became part owner of the Boston Red Sox. Deets inside…

Lawd! LeBron James is hurt!

The Los Angeles Lakers small forward left the second quarter after suffering a high right ankle sprain. And unfortunately, the injury will sideline him indefinitely, according to the Lakers organization. King James suffered the injury during last night’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks, 99 – 94.

“I haven’t necessarily seen him scream and squall like that, probably ever, not even with that groin,” said LeBron's teammate Kyle Kuzma, who was with the Lakers when James missed 17 games with a groin injury two seasons ago. “It had to hurt a little bit, for sure.”

After he was injured, King James came back, hit a 3-pointer, called a timeout, and left the court shortly afterwards.

Despite the setback, the 36-year-old NBA star is keeping his spirits high. He’s pissed he can’t be there for his teammates, but he’s optimistic about making a comeback. After it was reported he was out indefinitely, he aired out his frustrations in a tweet:

“Nothing angers and saddens me more than not being available to and for my teammates! I’m hurt inside and out right now. The road back from recovery begins now. Back soon like I never left,” he tweeted.

We wish him a speedy recovery!

It’s a huge loss for defending NBA champs as Anthony Davis is recovering from a right calf injury and isn’t expected to play until April. He has already missed 14 consecutive games. Also, Marc Gasol has missed his seventh straight game since February after sitting out under the NBA’s health and safety protocols.

Tonight, the Lakers will go head-to-head against the Phoenix Suns at 10pm EST.

When he’s not making moves on the court, King James is making mega business moves behind-the-scenes. Pending approval from Major League Baseball, LeBron James will become part owner of the Boston Red Sox. In fact, the Cleveland native and his homie/business partner Maverick Carter will also become a part owner of the MLB team.

LeBron and Maverick became partners with the Fenway Sports Group, according to the Boston Globe, making them the first Black partners in FSG’s history! Also, LeBron's ownership stake in Premier League club Liverpool also increased!

CBSSports breaks the deal down:

Didn't LeBron already own a portion of Liverpool?

He did. James owned a two percent share of the soccer club that he purchased in 2011, to be exact. His share in the club now increases, however, as a result of owning "an undisclosed amount of FSG shares," according to Michael Silverman of the Boston Globe -- who first broke the news. This will naturally increase in value as a result of this $750 million private investment into the ownership group from RedBird Capital Partners.

What does this mean for the Red Sox?

Perhaps the funniest, or most ironic, outcome of this whole purchase is the fact that LeBron James is now a part owner of the Boston Red Sox "as well as other FSG subsidiaries." These include NESN, Roush Fenway Racing, and Fenway Sports Management. The irony, of course, comes in the average Boston sports fan's disdain for James as a result of what he has done against the Celtics on the hardwood. It's also ironic that James himself has openly cheered for the Yankees, the Red Sox's biggest rival.

Anyway, on to whether this means anything for the Red Sox. It's unclear how involved James and Carter will be at the ownership level. The Red Sox, however, have been part of a league-wide trend that involves decimating your roster in the name of cutting payroll. The Red Sox in 2019, two years after having one of the best seasons in baseball history and winning a title, decided to tear everything down and start a rebuild that began with trading away Mookie Betts. This influx in cash might make it more difficult for ownership to cry poor during free agency.

Hate LeBron or love LeBron, you can't hate on his elevation! Such an inspiration!
