It’s Crazy Outside! Atlanta UPS Driver Tied Up & Held At Gunpoint For Hours While Thieves Stole Packages

It’s dangerous out here and nobody’s safe. Not even delivery drivers.

An Atlanta UPS driver was kidnapped, tied up in the back of his truck, and held at gunpoint as thieves invaded his truck and stole his packages.

According to police, the attack unfolded around 3:30AM EST when the 18-wheeler UPS truck was stopped at traffic light at Fulton Industrial Blvd NW and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway NW.

A gunmen entered the truck and forced the driver to drive to a secluded area in Bankhead Court (a housing project). The suspect and others “tied the victim up and stole cargo from the tractor trailer," according to an Atlanta police statement.

Six hours later, the company realized the truck was overdue, so they tracked it down using UPS. They found "the driver, un-injured, inside the trailer" and called law enforcement at about 9:15 a.m., the police statement continued. A UPS spokesperson said they are “grateful” that driver was injured, but deferred any other questions to police.

Law enforcement said about a quarter of the cargo was taken from the truck and moved into another vehicle that was waiting in the abandoned lot.

Right now, there aren’t any suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
