Former NBA player Kwame Brown is not happy with the way Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Zaya Wade, honored Kobe Bryant’s legacy on the second anniversary of his death. Find out all he had to say about D. Wade and Zaya’s tribute inside….
Ex-NBA star Kwame Brown is letting the world know he isn’t pleased with how the daughter of former NBA star Dwyane Wade paid tribute to Kobe Bryant’s legacy.
Kwame is pissed that D. Wade’s daughter, 14-year-old Zaya Wade - wore a #8 jersey dress to pay tribute to the NBA icon. He called it “disrespectful.”
On Instagram, Zaya shared a photo of himself rocking a custom designed #8 jersey dress from Gypsysport’s SS’22 collection to honor the live of Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant, who lost their lives with seven others in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020:
”always remembering and honoring Kobe and Gianna,” she captioned. Zaya also reposted posts from his step-mother Gabrielle Union and “Little Fires Everywhere” star Kerry Washington:
Well, Kwame made it known he’s NOT feeling the tribute…at all.
Kwame directed all of his heat towards D. Wade - who has been super supportive of his daughter - since Zaya is a child - he said. Kwame blamed D. Wade for allowing Gabby to "run his household" and said Kobe would never go for this.
During his “Bust Life” YouTube series, Kwame said the ex-Miami Heat star doesn’t “level up as a man" and said Zaya’s tribute is a disservice to Kobe’s masculinity and faith.
"I'm not saying there's anything against homosexuals, but [Kobe] is a heterosexual man. Why is he being honored by making his jersey into a dress? Wear his goddamn jersey for the day to honor him without the dress part," Brown added.
”Let's please not show our Black brother in this light. This is no offense to nobody else. This man was a heterosexual man with a wife and a family. There's no reason for this to be tied to Kobe Bryant. None whatsoever."

As of now, D. Wade nor Gabby has responded. Thoughts?
