Lauren London Trends After Some Men Grossly Body Shame Her In New Flicks From Upcoming Netflix Comedy With Eddie Murphy & Nia Long

Men on Twitter have TONS of audacity, Chile. Lauren London started trending on Twitter after some dusty men tried to body shame her after flicks of her from an upcoming Netflix film hit the Internet. More inside…

Not DUSTY men speaking on a woman’s body?!

If the last few years taught us anything, it taught us people - namely men - have loads of audacity!

Netflix revealed a mega trailer of 28 films set to premiere on the streaming platform in 2022, including an upcoming Netflix comedy film starring Lauren London, Eddie Murphy, Nia Long, Jonah Hill and more. It's a comedy based around an interracial couple going to visit each other's families, and Kenya Barris (“black-ish”) is directing.

Since the death of her partner Nipsey Hussle and having her second child Kross, Lauren has been navigating her way back into the acting world. However, the Internet hasn’t been kind too kind to Lauren when it comes to her looks.

While she’s uberly gorgeous, it seems any time she is being a normal human woman, it becomes an issue, mainly for men. After Netflix dropped the 2022 trailer, some users decided to hope on social media to body shame her.

"No wayyyyyyy this is Lauren London," one man wrote with a screenshot of Lauren from the trailer.

"Fine women gettin fat this is a real pandemic," another user wrote.

Peep the tweets below:

It wasn’t long before the Internet gathered the body shamers. And in DROVES. The fact these men thought it was cool to publicly disrespect a woman’s body just shows what type of men they are - IF you would even consider them men for trying bullsh*t like this.  And yes, the same goes for the droves of people body shaming Lizzo and others.

Like, the AUDACITY!

This isn’t the first time body shamers took to social media to attack Lauren.

In October 2020, the “Games People Play” actress got tired of folks commenting on her weight after pictures of her surfaced, so she clapped back.

After welcoming her son, Kross, with the late Nipsey Hussle in 2016, photos revealed she’d gained some post-baby weight - LIKE ALL WOMEN. The Internet took the opportunity to troll Lauren over her post-baby weight, so she popped back to the body-shaming trolls:

“I’ve been getting compliments on my looks for years,” she wrote on Instagram. “I NEVER let it ‘gas me’ because I knew the enduring value in all things is internal. When I decided to have my son, I knew the Internet would be cruel. I knew the casting directors would consider me out of commission for at least a year. I knew that MY BODY would change, but I did not let the fear of these things effect me to the point of going against my spirit.”

“I asked myself: would you rather be at conflict with yourself and at peace with the world? Or at peace with yourself and at conflict with the world? I choose the latter, at that moment I was ready for whatever came with it. This lil weight will get worked off and WHO I AM WILL BE UNCOMPROMISED. WIN-WIN. NO?”

As for the film, Lauren will be flexing her acting chops alongside Jonah Hill, Eddie Murphy, Nia Long, Mike Epps, Deon Cole and more in You People, which Kenya co-wrote with Jonah.

The flick follows a new couple and their families as they “find themselves examining modern love and family dynamics amidst clashing cultures, societal expectations and generational differences.”

Did it ever occur to the body shaming critics that she could have gained the weight for the role? Or maybe she’s simply HAPPY with her body and how she FEELS. It’s enough going on in the world. Shaming any person's body while we all survive in a pandemic shouldn’t be on anyone’s to-do list.
