It was def a change of pace for the best part of the game this year. The 2022 Super Bowl commercials were the blackest they’ve ever been.
As you know, advertisers spend big bucks for ads during the Super Bowl, which is one of the biggest entertainment nights of the year. On average, this year’s Super Bowl ad spots were about $6.5 million per spot. With a price tag like that - they better be good.
Diversity and inclusion have been talking points for the NFL, so this year’s commercial line up included more faces of color than usual.
Google Pixel’s Super Bowl ad highlighted a solution to a problem in a new commercial. Historically, cameras have failed to accurately capture images of people of color. That’s all changed.
Google Pixel’s new ad features an unreleased track from Lizzo titled “If You Love Me,” showing a montage of photographs of people of color with their improved Pixel "Real Tone" camera.

The NFL’s “Bring Down The House” ad featured a super cute unambiguously black family where a young boy and his sister were playing a football game on their game system before a group of animated NFL legends - both former and current - jumped out of the screen and eventually tore the house up.
