Laverne Cox was tapped to host the red carpet for this year’s SAG Awards. While chatting with Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, Laverne created an awkward moment when she made a reference to Jada’s Red Table Talk “entanglements.”
Watch their reactions, plus see the grand red carpet entrances when you go inside….
”Orange Is The New Black” star Laverne Cox and actress Yvette Nicole Brown were tapped to host the E! News red carpet before this year’s 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring the best TV and film performances from the past year. The ceremony was the first major in-person awards to be held since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hollywood veteran Will Smith - who was nominated for Best Actor - and his wife/actress Jada Pinkett Smith (styled in a vintage Gareth Pugh gown) made their way down the red carpet ahead of the show and made a stop to chop it up with Laverne for E!
While rapping up the interview with the power couple, the two-time SAG winner - decked out in Michael Fausto and a Judith Leiber bag - praised Will for all of his accomplishments and applauded Jada for her success with her “Red Table Talk” Facebook Watch series. Then, she brought up Jada’s “entanglement.”
“Thank you for all the years of joy you’ve brought us, thank you, we can’t wait for more ‘Red Table Talk’ and more entanglements,” Laverne said to The Smiths on the carpet, referencing Jada’s affair with August Alsina.
“No more of those,” Jada quickly responded while laughing it off with her husband Will.
