Awards season is here! And we’ve got a round-up of YBF winners during the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards for, which recognized excellence in television and film. According to its website, the awards have typically been an accurate predictor of who will be nominated for an Academy Award.
It appears an Academy Award is loading for veteran actor Will Smith! The global superstar won bets actor at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards for his performance as Venus & Serena Williams’ father, Richard Williams, in King Richard.
Of course, Will had his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, on his arm for the epic night. She rocked a Maison Rabih Kayrouz gown to celebrate her man.
During his acceptance speech, the 53-year-old actor thanked the Williams Family for trusting him with their life story.
”I am here tonight with Venus and Serena [Williams] and their sister Isha," he said. "And I really just want to say to all of you, thank you for entrusting me with your story. What you were able to do, and what your family was able to do, inspired everyone in this room, everyone in this country and everyone around the world."

By the way, Will also won awards in the same category at the 2022 SAG Awards and 2022 BAFTA Awards. The actor has been nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Awards, so it sure looks like an Oscar is loading for Will. It’s long overdue.
Back on the carpet….
Further confirming their relationship, this year’s co-host Taye Diggs brought Apryl Jones along as his date for the red carpet event.
The show’s host kept it dapper in Armani and the former “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star rocked a custom purple feathered look from Jean-Louis Sabaji. While this isn’t their first red carpet appearance together, it’s their first time showing up together at a major televised event.

A sister salvage! Tennis superstar Venus Williams served up thigh action in Atelier Versace and Messika jewelry, styled by Law Roach. Meanwhile, her younger sister/tennis GOAT Serena Williams sparkled in a Versace gown in a similar hue as her sister.

"Insecure" creator/star Issa Rae ushered in spring wearing a floral, flowy Carolina Herrera dress.
"POSE" star MJ Rodriguez served face while posing it up in a Valentino SS22 Couture look. The actor was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
"Evil" star Mike Colter - decked out in a pinstriped Dolce and Gabbana suit - hit the carpet as he was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series.
Styled by Wayman + Michah, "The Underground Railroad" actress Thuso Mbedu looked like a mini goddess in Christian Dior as she was nominated Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made For Television.
Keeping it edgy with a colored pixie cut, Hollywood vet Halle Berry rocked a MÔNOT bustier underneath a Dolce and Gabanna suit to accept the SeeHer Award. She delivered an inspiring speech that had folks in the audience in tears.
"[Storytelling] can raise our consciousness and help us think outside of ourselves and our individual circumstances," Halle said. "I realized that we truly need to see each other's reality — no matter how uncomfortable it makes us — so that we can stop judging and stop pointing fingers, but rather find compassion and empathy for the others."

King Richard star Aunjanue L. Ellis - who was nominated for Best Supporting actress - STUNNED in a glittery dusty rose Dolce and Fabbana gown custom made for her. And...WOW! She looked AH-MAZING.

It appears TV host April Ruffin and Apryl Jones wore similar looks. While Amber opted for purple, Amber rocked a black feathered look from Jean Louis Sabaji.
