Florida rapper Rod Wave was reportedly arrested last month for allegedly choking his ex-girlfriend/mother of his children to the point she couldn’t breathe while their two children were in the house.
According to The Tampa Bay Times, the arrest warrant for rapper Rod Wave was just made public for the first time. According to the police report, the alleged choking incident happened on April 24th.
The St. Petersburg rapper (real name Rodarius Marcell Green) now faces a felony charge of domestic battery by strangulation after officers responded to several 9-1-1 calls made by an unidentified woman. She accused the 23-year-old rapper of entering her home and getting aggressive with her while their two children were in their room.
The woman’s name has been redacted in the court documents, however, she told deputies that she dated Rod Wave for about four years and they have two children together. Rod Wave is the father of twin daughters and their mother is his ex, Kelsey (aka Dee). Below is a picture of Rod and his daughter's mother when she was pregnant with their twin daughters:
The woman told Osceola deputies Rod entered her home and then her bedroom while she was sleeping. According to the arrest affidavit, he accused her of talking to other men before choking her until she couldn’t breathe. The children were reportedly in their own bedroom(s) when the incident occurred.
The “Rags2Riches” rapper reportedly left the home and then came back a second time to accuse the woman of taking his cellphone. She said he kicked storage shelves near the front door and grabbed two photos off the wall, throwing them on the front porch and sidewalk before he drove off.
Although she suffered minor injuries (a scratch “near the left center of her neck"), she refused medical assistance. After the police took photos of her injuries, police searched the area for Rod Wave, but were unable to locate him.
A week later, cops arrested Rod Wave during a traffic stop in St. Petersburg. He was reportedly released from the Pinellas County Jail on $5,000 bail on May 3rd.
Rod maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to the felony charge of domestic battery by strangulation. No word on the date of his next court hearing.
We pray she stays safe...
