Shanquella Robinson's Family Wants Answers After She Dies In Mexico! ‘Friends’ Claim She Died From Alcohol Poisoning + Video Of Woman Assaulting Shanquella Surfaces + Autopsy Reveals Her Neck Was Broken

The family of Shanquella Robinson, a 25-year-old braider from Charlotte, North Carolina, wants answers after she never returned from a trip to Mexico with a group of friends. The woman died in Mexico, and her friends told her mother she had alcohol poisoning. However, the autopsy reveals Shanquella suffered a broken neck and cracked spinal cord. The shocking details inside…

The world is seemingly getting more wicked by the second, and friends can no longer be trusted to have your best interests at heart.

Shanquella Robinson, 25, went on a trip to Cabo with a group of “friends” and never returned. The young businesswoman, who specialized in braiding children’s hair, was found dead within 24 hours of arriving in Mexico. Her friends told her family she died of alcohol poisoning, but the autopsy report doesn’t back their claims.

Now, Shanquella’s family is fighting to find out what actually happened to their loved one, as there are conflicting stories about how Shanquella died.

On Friday, October 28th, Shanquella, her best friend Khalil Cooke, and four others, including Daejhanae Jackson, Wenter Donovan, Alysse Hyatt, and Nazeer Wiggins traveled to Cabo, Mexico, to celebrate a Nazeer’s birthday. They’re all friends who met at Winston-Salem University.

Shanquella's mother, Salamondra Robinson, claimed she received a call from Khalil (Shanquella’s best friend of five years) on Saturday, October 29, 2022, informing them that Shanquella was "sleeping," and "not feeling well," and had puked a few times. At that time, the mom wasn’t concerned because she thought her daughter had a hangover and felt comfortable knowing her best friend was with her.

That was not the case, as it turned out.

“She told me they had a chef. They were getting ready to eat. They were eating tacos or a salad or something, and I said, ‘OK. I love you. Have a good night, and I will talk to you tomorrow.’ I never talked to my child again. She never made it back home,” her mom, Salamondra Robinson, told Queen City News.

Khalil called Shanquella’s mother informing her she wasn’t feeling good.

”After he told me that she was resting and not feeling good and that she had thrown up, I told him just to call us and keep us informed on how she is doing," Salamondra said.

The next time Khalil called, he informed Shanquella’s family that an ambulance had arrived at their villa. Speaking with THENCBEAT, Shanquella's mom said Khalil told her there were about three ambulances there and they were trying to resuscitate Shanquella.

“They couldn’t get a pulse,” Salamonda told Queen City News. “Each one of the people that was there with her was telling different stories,” she told Queen City News.

Medics could not save Shanquella, and she died. After her death, the “friends” returned to the United States.

A video has surfaced on social media that shows a woman beating Shanquella, while she was naked, in a hotel room. In the video, shared by THENCBEAT, a woman is seen beating Shanquella in the head repeatedly as others record the fight. At one point, one of the people recording encourages Shanquella to “fight back,” and she responds, “no.”

We are not posting the brutal attack here out of respect for the woman and her family.

Police have not verified if it’s Shanquella in the video or not. It’s also unclear who the attacker is, but social media investigators believe it’s Daejhanae Jackson, which has NOT been confirmed by law enforcement.

Shanquella’s family contacted the FBI and Mexican authorities and that’s when they learned of another potential cause of death.

“When the autopsy came back, they said it didn’t have anything to do with the alcohol,” Salamondra told Queen City News. “[They] said that she had a broken neck and her spine in the back was cracked. She had been beaten.”

She added, “I know that’s not going to bring my child back, but I want something done about it.”

The family also said they will hire a private investigator if it comes to that. Queen City News spoke with officials at the U.S. State Department in Mexico, and they deny that Shanquella Robinson was murdered, claiming that the police's initial investigation found no clear evidence of foul play.

One of the friends who went on the trip, Nazeer Wiggins, took to Instagram to attempt to clear his name. He claims he had not made it to the villa yet when the alleged fight went down (Friday night), and that he believed she had alcohol poisoning because that’s what everyone else told him:

Activist Tamika Mallory announced she's in contact with Shanquella's family to help them receive justice:

Singer K. Michelle and City Girls rapper JT took to social media, demanding justice for Shanquella:

No parent should have to endure the pain of burying their child. And they especially shouldn't have to go through such turmoil just to get to the bottom of what exactly happened to cause their child's death. We're sending our prayers and condolences to Shanquella's family, and we pray they're able to get justice for her!
