Students took to social media to share their first hand accounts of being on lock down on campus for the past 12 hours:
So scary.
According to police, the shooter killed three current UVA football players: wide receiver Lavel Davis Jr., linebacker D’Sean Perry, and wide receiver Devin Chandler.
Friends and faculty are mourning the lost of the three players on social media:
During a press conference, police said the shooting occurred on a bus full of students returning from a field trip. Two of the players were found dead on the bus, while the third player died at the hospital. It’s not clear if the shooter was also on the field trip, or if it was just the players who were, and he walked up on them at the bus.
As for the two people injured, one is in critical condition and the other is in good condition.
Stay locked in as more details are still trickling in.
We send our prayers to the families and friends who have been affected by this unnecessary tragedy right before the holidays.
