Super Bowl LVII has shaped up to be a historic one!
Super Bowl LVII is set to make history as it will feature the first-ever face-off between two Black quarterbacks, Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles and Patrick Mahomes II of the Kansas City Chiefs. The championship game is set to take place on Sunday, February 12, 2023, and it promises to be a thrilling showdown between two of the NFL's brightest stars.
It's unbelievable to think that this is the first time two black quarterbacks will face off in the Super Bowl, despite the fact that the league is made up of nearly 60% players of color.
Fans can expect a high-stakes game filled with intense competition and exciting plays. Both Hurts and Mahomes are known for their strong arms, fast feet, and quick thinking, making it anyone's guess as to who will come out on top.
The Eagles won the NFC championship by defeating the San Francisco 49ers, 31-7, and earning a trip to Glendale, Ariz., for the franchise's fourth Super Bowl appearance.
The Chiefs defeated the Bengals in a nail-biter, 23-20, to avenge last season's AFC Championship loss.
Not only did the fellas make history, a bomb black female did as well.
Nicole Lynn of Klutch Sports Group will become the first Black female agent to represent a quarterback in the Super Bowl. Woot!
During Jalen Hurts' initial search for an agent, he received a direct message from Nicole Lynn saying she was interested in representing him. Despite skeptics who questioned her "because she's a woman in this industry," he was adamant about giving her a chance. He knew he wanted her in his corner after learning about her experience, work ethic, and sense of trust.
Not only that, Hurts has built an all-female team to help navigate his road to success.
After the Eagles clinched the NFC Championship, Nicole tweeted, “I’m not crying. You’re crying.”
I’m not crying. You’re crying.

We are TOTALLY here for it.
It’s the pairing for us too!
In the stands at the AFC Championship game…
Pat Mahomes Sr., Mahomes' father, joined in the fun by smoking a cigar on the field after the game. When asked about his commemorative cigar, he said he was “smoking on that Joe Burrow.”
Joe Burrow is the Bengals’ quarterback. Watch the hilarous clips above and below:
HA! Papa Mahomes has jokes.
Mark your calendars. Super Bowl LVII goes down Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 6:30pm EST.
Rihanna is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime performance. “Abbott Elementary” star Sheryl Lee Ralph will sing the Black national anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing” before the big game.
