Last weekend, the owner and a waiter at a restaurant in Overland Park alleged that Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, had assaulted them. And there’s surveillance footage of the alleged assault. The police are currently investigating these allegations. More details inside…
Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs' star quarterback and Super Bowl champ Patrick Mahomes, is making headlines for all the wrong reasons! According to TMZ, Jackson Mahomes is currently under investigation for sexual assault after allegedly grabbing the neck of a Kansas restaurant owner and forcibly kissing her multiple times in a disturbing incident that took place on Feb. 25th.
But that's not all - Jackson, 22, is also accused of assaulting a 19-year-old male waiter during the same incident. TMZ reports that he shoved the poor waiter multiple times before turning his attention to Aspen Vaughn, the 40-year-old owner of Aspens Restaurant, where the alleged assault took place.
While police have yet to release a report of the incident, they have confirmed that they are currently investigating and have requested anyone with information to come forward. Vaughn, for her part, has stated that police are currently reviewing surveillance footage of the incident.
A 49-second clip of the alleged assault has already racked up over 1.2 million views, and Vaughn has stated that she believes Jackson was intoxicated at the time. Despite her repeated attempts to make it clear that his advances were unwanted, he reportedly persisted in grabbing her neck and forcibly kissing her twice. If that weren't enough, one of Vaughn's wait staff also claims that Jackson shoved him out of a private room where he and his entourage were dining, alleging that he could smell weed being smoked. Yikes!
While Jackson has yet to be arrested as of Tuesday, his attorney, Brandan Davles, is coming out in full force to defend his client. Davles maintains that Jackson did not do anything wrong and did not break any laws, and has even reached out to law enforcement to provide evidence that contradicts the restaurant's claims.
“Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser including the statements of several witnesses,” Davles told The Kansas City Star. “We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”
It remains to be seen how this whole thing will play out. We'll be sure to keep you updated with all the latest developments as they unfold.
