Tia Mowry & Cory Hardrict Settle Divorce, Amicable Agreement On Custody Of Kids

After a surprise filing last October, Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict are officially divorced after 14 years. Details on their uncoupling inside…

Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict have settled their divorce, and some details of their split are starting to emerge.

According to Radar Online, the couple has agreed to share custody of their two children, Cree, 11, and Cairo, 4, in an amicable agreement that brings their 14-year relationship to a close.

Tia's powerhouse attorney, Laura Wasser, recently filed court documents outlining the terms of the divorce settlement, which includes a written agreement between the former couple regarding their property and marriage rights, including support.

While the details of custody and financial support have not been revealed, the documents confirm that all matters have been resolved, and the couple has agreed to joint physical custody of their kids.

The parties are now seeking court approval to finalize the settlement and put the case behind them once and for all. It's been a long road for Tia and Cory, who announced their split in October 2022 after years of rumors and speculation. Tia cited "irreconcilable differences" in her divorce filing, however, Cory denied that "irreconcilable differences" were a factor in their uncoupling.

In addition, Cory agreed to joint legal and physical custody of their two children in his response to the divorce. He also reportedly asked the court to terminate his ex-wife's right to spousal support and left unchecked the boxes on the paperwork indicating whether he wanted to seek spousal support from his ex.

Cory's lawyer also allegedly included a note in the response, stating that he wanted the court to rule on "the validity of the prenuptial agreement dated April 14, 2008 and/or that any provisions are unconscionable."

Despite their differences, both parties have remained relatively tight-lipped about the reasons for their split.

Since the breakup, Tia and Cory have maintained a friendly relationship for the sake of their children, and have expressed their commitment to co-parenting together. In a statement to fans, Tia said, "These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children."

The “All American: Homecoming” star initially seemed to try to win the Cooking Channel chef back, telling fans on Instagram Live, "I love my beautiful family, I love my kids, love my wife. Love all you guys. It's all love."

While the divorce symbolizes the death of their marriage, Tia share she decided to change the narrative and look at her situation in a different way. Since the divorce announcement, Tia has filled her social media timeline with self-love videos and motivational quotes.

“I knew when I really started to focus on my happiness,” the 44-year-old mom said on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna. “I feel like women, we tend to focus on everybody else’s happiness, making sure that everybody else is OK — meaning our children, our friends, our family, but at the end of the day, it’s about self-love.”

She added, “When you start to really work on yourself, love yourself, know your value and know your worth, then all of a sudden, there’s this awakening. And it’s not easy. It’s a hard journey, but at the end of the day, I feel like it is so, so worth it,” she explained.

A few days ago…

"The Game" aluim shared a photo of herself in the bed with her children, writing, “I’m being completely honest with you all, these last few months have been some of the hardest of my life. There’s no telling what direction life is going to take you and nothing but one thing is ever certain: the love I have for these two. They are the reason I continue to push myself every day to work harder. Even when the going gets tough, I do everything for my kids, for their future, and for the generations to come.”

While the details of their divorce settlement may be private, it's clear that Tia and Cory are committed to moving forward with grace and respect for one another. We wish them both the best.
