According to a copy of the official certificate of live birth obtained by The Daily Mail, the couple named their adorable baby boy RZA Athelston Mayers, paying homage to the legendary music producer and Wu-Tang leader.

 

And that's not all - the little one's middle name is a nod to his father's middle name, Rakim Athelaston Mayers.

As it turns out, there's a fascinating backstory behind A$AP Rocky's real name. His name was inspired by none other than the legendary rapper and Eric B. collaborator, Rakim. What's more, the two Rakims crossed paths in a chance encounter that reads like something out of a movie. According to Rakim, he met Rocky when he was an infant while driving around Harlem.

Since giving birth, the new mom has been spotted rocking Wu-Tang Clan t-shirts and RZA merch. It's no secret that the "Umbrella" songstress has been a longtime fan of the iconic hip-hop group, and it seems that motherhood has only intensified her appreciation for their music and culture.

The happy couple was seen hitting the shopping scene in Los Angeles after revealing their son's name. The Pop princess showed off her edgy maternity style in a white crop top and navy blazer, while Rocky looked cool in a red leather jacket and shades.

Before their shopping trip, the couple made a quick stop at Cha Cha Matcha in West Hollywood. The Fenty Beauty mogul, who appeared to be carrying a few items, including what seemed to be her son's blue sippy cup, made her way to the popular matcha cafe with her beau by her side. The couple enjoyed a refreshing break before continuing their day out in LA.

Last month, the "Work" singer upped the ante on her already lavish Los Angeles real estate collection with the purchase of a breathtaking $21 million penthouse, dubbed the "Mansion in the Sky," at The Century condominium building.

It remains to be seen whether the couple will continue their tradition of giving their children names starting with the letter "R."
