It was a historic night with Duke sending three of their players to the NBA draft in the Top 10 for the first time in school history. But the real story is all the #blackboyjoy, the tears and the appreciation for parents. Get into it inside.
Draft night is always an emotional one, but this year the #blackboyjoy at Brooklyn Barclays had us all the way in our feelings. Zion Williamson was the overwhelming favorite to go #1 straight to New Orleans, and that's exactly what happened. No surprise there. But him breaking down about his mother and all of her sacrificing being the reason he's gotten this far...now that took folks out.
"I wouldn't be here without my mom. She did everything for me."

Awww!
Despite the rumors that he s super pissed he's not going to the NY Knicks, it's no question he's still quite appreciate of the opportunities ahead.

We believe it.
Zion's teammate and good friend, RJ Barrett, broke all the way down as his father spoke up on his behalf. Black fathers for the win!
"You have to be proud, very proud. I'm proud of you, son."

Another baller, Matise Thybulle, got emotional wishing his mother who passed was there to see his success.

History was also made with Rui Hachimura - the first baller from Japan to go first round:

The fellas weren't just ecstatic about their own draft and MAJOR signing bonuses, they were super geeked for each other too:

"Almost like my heart just stopped, skipped a few beats. ..."
Zion tried to describe what it felt like when his name was called at the #NBADraft.
