Listen, Normani did NOT come to play when she hit the stage to perform at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
Last night wasn't the first time Normani graced the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards. A few years ago, she rocked out with her former Fifth Harmony bandmates. This year, chick was tapped for a solo act and she proved she's def a force to be reckoned with.
The uber FAB chick solidified her spot as a Pop princess when she made her solo debut during this year's MTV Video Music Awards at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
The 23-year-old entertainer hit the stage to perform her new track "Motivation," which was her first time delivering a live performance of the single. And boy did she DELIVER.
The R&B songstress served up 90s vibes (like in her music video), descending from the sky on top of a basketball hoop where she paid homage to musical icons like Beyonce, Ciara, Jennifer Lopez, and Britney Spears. She danced her a** off in a purple velour outfit surrounded by dancers who rocked matching sweatsuits to give that throwback feel.
Chick snatched wigs with her performance, even adding in a few gymnast moves for a more athletic touch.

Normani copped her first solo Moon Man for Best R&B for "Waves," which features singer 6LACK.
“wow I’m screaming THANK YOU GOD !!!!!!!!! I love you @6LACK!!!!” tweeted Normani. “what a night sheeeesh I’m emotional," she captioned on Twitter following the win.
Before taking the stage...
She chopped it up on the carpet about performing "Motivation" for the first time.
“This is a moment that I’ve been waiting for for such a long time and I feel like there’s so much bottled up in me that I feel like the world has yet to experience,” she told MTV red carpet host Terrence J. “So I’m more excited than anything, just to be like, ‘This is who I am. This is who I’ve known that I was all along.'”
