Olympic gymnast Simone Biles just received devastating news about her brother.
Simone's brother, 24-year-old Tevin Biles-Thomas, has been arrested and charged in a New Year's Eve shooting that left three people dead, according to reports.
The brother of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has been charged with murder in a New Year’s Eve shooting that left three people dead. Police charged him with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury, according to a statement from Cleveland police.
It's reported the shooting happened at a NYE party around 11:30pm on December 31, 2018. Apparently, a group of people who weren't invited popped up at the house party and “an altercation ensued” between the group and guests. The altercation quickly escalated and gunfire erupted, resulting in multiple people being shot, three of whom died.
The three men who were killed were identified as Delvante Johnson, 19, Toshaun Banks, 21, and Devaughn Gibson, 23. Tragic. After investigating, the police determined it was Simone's brother "as a shooter in the incident."
NBC reports:
Biles-Thomas is being held at Liberty County Jail in Hinesville, Georgia. An arraignment is set for Sept. 13 in Cleveland, although it is unknown when he may be extradited. It was not immediately clear Friday if Biles-Thomas has a lawyer.
It's reported he was taken into custody around 3:30pm yesterday (August 29th).
Last night, the Olympic gold medalist tweeted, "eating my feelings don’t talk to me," but it's unclear what she was referring to.
