Cam’Ron is mourning the lost of his childhood girlfriend who passed away recently. And he also sets the record straight about her identity. More inside…
In very sad news, rapper Cam’Ron lost someone very close to him recently.
The Dipset rapper’s high school sweetheart, Tawasa Harris, died. After calling it quits with “Love & Hip Hop” star JuJu, Cam rekindled his romance with Tawasa after being apart for a long time. They made their relationship official a year a half ago, New Year’s Eve 2019.
There were inaccurate reports going around identifying his girlfriend as the mother of his son, Cameron Ezike Giles Jr. However, that’s not the case. Cam’Ron’s son’s mother is fine. The “Hey Ma” rapper posted a lengthy Instagram post to pay tribute to his late girlfriend and to clear up the rumors that were going around.
“First off I want to thank my family, friends and fans for their condolences, I really appreciate it,” he captioned a photo of the couple. “This is not my sons mother (my sons mother is fine) this is someone I went out with years ago, and we got back together a year and a half ago. And I had the best time of my life during that period.”
"I chose to keep this relationship private because of the same way the media is acting now. Speculating, reporting with out facts etc. but Tee I’m truly going to miss you. You are my best friend.. and the the true definition of HOMIE, LOVER, FRIEND," he continued.
A close friend of Tawsa's named Latanya Marie also paid tribute to Tawasa via Facebook:
As of now, the details surrounding Tawasa’ death is unclear. We send our condolences to her family and friends.
