KEEPING IT 100! Will Smith Admits He Was ‘Deeply, Deeply’ Insecure About Jada & Tupac's Super Close Friendship

Will Smith keeps it a STACK when asked about his true feelings surrounding his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s close friendship with late rapper Tupac. Get into his candid response inside….

Will Smith proves insecurities can creep up on us all!

While on the promo trail for their new movie Bad Boys For Life, co-stars/homies Will Smith and Martin Lawrence stopped by Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” to chop it up. The veteran actors shared behind-the-scenes tidbits about how certain scenes in previous Bad Boys films came about, how they came together for the first Bad Boys movie and more.

Known for asking the hard-hitting questions, radio host Charlamagne asked Will if he was ever jealous of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s super close friendship with late rapper Tupac. As you know, Jada and Tupac attended high school in Baltimore together and formed an unconditional love for one another. Jada and Tupac never officially dated, but their feelings for one another were strong.

Will and Jada ended up tying the knot in 1997, but before they got married, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star was “deeply, deeply” insecure about their friendship. Will said he “wasn’t man enough to handle that relationship,” and it bothered him so much, he refused to speak to Pac when he was around. Sheesh!

"Were you ever jealous of the love Jada had for Tupac?,” Charlamagne asked.

”Oh, f*ck yeah! And that was in the early days,” the Aladdain star responded. “That was a big regret for me too because I could never open up to interact with Pac. We had a little bit of thing, right,” he explained.

”They [Jada & Tupac] grew up together, and they loved each other, but they never had a sexual relationship. But, they had come into that age where now that was a possibility, and then Jada was with me. Pac had a little thing on that, but she just loved him! He was the image of perfection, but she was with ‘The Fresh Prince.’

The 51-year-old actor said Jada used to tell him all the time that they would get along great because they had a lot of things in common, but Will said he “couldn’t handle it.”

“That was a huge regret of mine. I couldn’t handle it. I was the soft rapper from Philly and he was PAC. I was deeply, deeply insecure and I wasn’t man enough to handle that relationship.”

Opening up more about his 20+ year marriage to Jada, he said their commitment to one another has been "wildly tested," but there's nothing she can do to break up their relationship. The Gemini Man star said there's a certain amount of "battery that you have to subject each other to to really know if you're really down." Oh?

Peep the full interview below where they talk about how they met, coming together for the first Bad Boys, why Martin did all those characters on his self-titled comedy series, how Will has been trying to get Martin more active on social media, Will’s Ted Talk about being your authentic self, why Gabrielle Union isn’t in Bad Boys 3, Will's close relationship with Tyrese, if Martin will nab a Netflix special, and more.
