OOP! Russell Simmons’ Daughters Have Some Words For Oprah After She Pulls Out Of Accuser’s Doc

Russell Simmons’ daughters have some words for Oprah after she dropped out a documentary that surrounds one of Russell’s sexual assault accusers. More inside…

Folks were shocked when Oprah decided to back away the upcoming #METOO documentary centered around a former music executive, Drew Dixon, who has accused Russell Simmons of sexual assault.

Earlier this month, Lady O pulled her executive producer card from the untitled doc from Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering. It was also pulled from its AppleTV+ distribution.

The media mogul didn’t hide why she chose to take her name off the film, citing creative differences. She said she wasn’t satisfied with it and felt it wasn’t fully finished. And since she’s not 100% pleased with the documentary, she’s wiping her name from the film.

That doesn’t mean she doesn’t believe the woman though. She’s still riding hard for the #METOO & #TIMESUP movements.

”First and foremost, I want it to be known that I unequivocally believe and support the women Their stories deserve to be told and heard,” she said in a statement.

After Oprah stepped aside, there were reports that Russell “pressured” her to leave the doc (via his public posts), which she says is not true during in interview with her bestie/”CBS This Morning” co-anchor Gayle King. An interview she told Gayle she would have called in sick

”I have live METOO since I was nine year’s old,” Oprah said. She said she believes these women because she knows how it feels to not be believed after an assault.

She made it clear Russell did not pressure her to leave the doc, nor is it a "victory."

"This is not a victory for Russell and I unequivocally say that I did not because of Russell," she said. "This is not a victory lap for him. I cannot be silenced by a Russell Simmons after all I've been through."

Meanwhile, on social media...

“You don’t even know how mad Oprah makes me,” Harvard student Aoki captioned a picture of her model sister Ming Lee Simmons, seemingly some words for Oprah. In the picture Ming is sitting on the floor in mid conversation with her hands up. Peep the pup.

Oop.

While both were babies (if born yet at all) when the alleged incidents took place, it's expected that daughters would defend their father.  It's also possible family members don't akways see EVERY side of another family member.

A few days ago, the Simmons sisters and creative directors of the newly relaunched Baby Phat stepped out to celebrate Ming's 20th at Catch in LA.

Litte brother Wolfe Lee Leissner was also in the mix. Aww.

Peep the birthday tributes:

“The roaring 20s,” Aoki captioned a flick of herself with her older sister. “Happy birthday, old sport."

Ming's mom Kimora Lee Simmons and dad Russell Simmons showered her with birthday posts:

Happy Birthday Ming!
