So the rumors are true. Cam Newton and his longtime girlfriend/kids’ mother Kia Proctor have broken up. But, we didn’t know it was THIS bad between the two. Deets on DNA tests, custody and child support inside….
A few days ago, we tipped you off about a rumor that Cam Newton and his longtime girlfriend Kia Proctor, who is also the mother of his four children, had called it quits. Word on the curb is that they broke up because he had a baby with Instagram model La Reina Shaw months before their fourth baby was welcomed into the world.
It has yet to be (publicly) determined if Cam is the father of La Reina’s alleged baby, however, Cam and Kia have def called it quits…and it’s getting NASTY!
It’s reported (via Bossip) Cam & Kia have been broken up for at least six months now and they have been battling it out in court over custody and child support ever since. Cam and Kia share four kids together – 5-year-old Chosen, 3-year-old Sovereign-Dior, 2-year-old Camidas Swain, and baby Cashmere Saint, who was born in October 2019.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback has sued Kia for paternity, joint custody and visitation, according to court papers. The NFL baller has acknowledged signing the birth certificates of his four children, however, he wants a DNA test done on all of the kids.
Whew chile. The audacity.
Also, he told the courts he has voluntarily been paying child support to Kia, but he wants the courts to determine a fixed dollar amount. Once he has legally been proven to be the father of the children, he would like joint physical custody with Kia.
Since his filing, Kia countersued for FULL custody of the kids, child support, health benefits, life insurance and she wants him to pay her legal fees.
Kia is confident that Cam is the father of their four children and has NO problem with him getting a DNA test, but he’ll have to pay for it.
Over the last six years she has been in a relationship with Cam, she hasn’t generated any income, so she has asked the courts to determine a child support amount outside of the regular guidelines since the NFL QB has a “guaranteed salary of $60 million out of a nearly $104 million contract." She said Newton also has an endorsement deal with Under Armor and owns multiple businesses.
“She has absolutely no source of income,” Proctor’s court papers state, adding that Newton has been her and the children’s sole financial supporter.
Seems as though she either wasn't given resources during the relationship or didn't use them to build her own portfolio.

Proctor said she’s willing to negotiate a financial deal with Newton, but if they can’t see eye to eye, she asked the judge to force Newton to hand over $15,000 so she can hire a financial analyst to examine his total income and recommend an appropriate support figure. She’s also asked the judge to enforce a confidential settlement agreement they made before their youngest child Cashmere Saint was born last September.
Proctor revealed in court papers that she and her longtime lover have been separated for months, and she said she moved out of Newton’s home and planned to return to her native Maryland with the kids. She said that since Newton plans to stay in his native Georgia, a joint custody plan would be unworkable.
Bossip reached out to Cam’s lawyer and this is their response:
“We and Mr. Newton prefer not to comment on the case and continue to hope the parties will be able to resolve matters privately.”
