Ne-Yo confirms he and his wife Crystal Smith have called it quits! More inside....
Ne-Yo and Crystal Smith are officially over.
Over the last few weeks, there has been speculation that the R&B crooner and his wife Crystal Smith have called it quits after almost four years of marriage. The couple tied the knot on February 20, 2016 in a ceremony overlooking the ocean in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
Everything seemed to be all good on New Year's Eve as they posted several lovey dovey videos together ringing in the new year. Now, they’re dunzo.
The Grammy Award winner confirmed the breakup news during an interview on the “Private Talk With Alexis Texas” podcast hosted by porn star Alexis Texas.
“It’s slowly but surely becoming public knowledge that myself and my wife have decided to go ahead and get a divorce,” he said on the episode released over the weekend, adding he will not trash talk her in the media following their uncoupling.
“There’s nothing bad to say about her,” he continued. “She’s a fantastic woman. She’s the mother of my children and she’s always gonna be that and I will always respect her.”
The "Sexy Love" singer then opened up about how their “demons don’t mesh” and how that played a huge role in their breakup.
“We realize that our demons don’t mesh and until both of us get a hold of our personal demons, it’s gonna be just difficult for us to stay married,” he added. “With that being said, that’s the end of that chapter, not the end of the book. Like I said, that’s the mother of my kids and I love her to death. We’re going to be family forever.”
Oh. Ok.

Ne-Yo and Crystal share two sons together, Shaffer Jr. and Roman. The singer also has two kids with his ex-fiancee Monyetta Shaw, Mason & Madilyn.

The former couple has been dropping hints of a breakup over the last few weeks. Crystal has been posting thirst traps on her socials and she even erased flicks of Ne-Yo from her IG account:
Over the weekend....
Crystal made her way to the 2020 NBA All Star Game in Chicago and was spotted with "Black Ink Chicago" star Ryan Henry:
Mmhmm...
Last week...
Ne-Yo was seen in a video dancing to song lyrics that said, “She gave back the wedding ring, I turned it to a pinky ring.”
No word from Crystal about the breakup...yet. However, a source told TheJasmineBland, she plans to file for divorce later this month.
“Crystal left him. She’s had enough," the source said.
We wish them both the best.
