After the World Health Organization classified the Coronavirus (COVID-19) as a pandemic, literally everything has shut down. Film festivals, sports events, movie premieres and now, huge blockbusters that were set to hit theaters have been pushed back.
Fast & Furious 9 was set to hit theaters in the U.S. May 22nd. However, the film has been pushed back an entire year! The 9th installment of the action thriller will not premiere April 2021 globally. The U.S. release date is set for April 2, 2021.
According to Variety, Universal Studios made the decision due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Theaters in countries hit the hardest like Italy, China and South Korea are closed. Also, theaters in Denmark, Norway, Poland, Greece and states in India, Lebanon and Kuwait have been closed.
Disney’s Mulan premiere date has also been pushed back. The film has been delayed indefinitely worldwide following the postponement of the China release. Disney is also postponing The New Mutants and Antlers with no new release date given.

Back to the Coronavirus cancellations...
A Quiet Place: Part 2 has been delayed indefinitely. The new James Bond film, No Time To Die, has been pushed back till November. It was originally supposed to be released on April 10th in the U.S. and April 2nd international. It’ll hit theaters in the U.S. on November 25th and the U.K. on November 12th.
Paramount pumped the breaks of Sonic The Hedgehog’s Chine release, which was supposed to drop February 28th.
Several film festivals have been postponed as well. Variety reports:
ViacomCBS, WarnerMedia, Fox, Discovery, The CW and NBCUniversal have canceled their upfront presentations, opting for an alternative to stream them. New York’s Tribeca Film Festival has been postponed to an unannounced date. It was originally scheduled for April 15-26.
CinemaCon, the annual trade show bringing together movie theater exhibitors, distributors and partners, was canceled.
Rupaul’s 2020 DragCon in Los Angeles has been canceled. DragCon L.A. will return in 2021 and will be working with Eventbrite to issue refunds.
The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles has been postponed to later this year. It was originally slated to run from April 1-5.

Also, daytime television and late night shows have been shut down as well, including the "Wendy Williams Show." At first, most shows decided to shoot in front of live audiences. TV hosts used their staff in place of an actual audience. Now, that's even been shut down.

With state of emergency declared in New York over the coronavirus pandemic, New York-based shows have started to suspend production. That includes NBC’s late-night programs The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers, and syndicated daytime talker The Wendy Williams Show. All three had previously announced that they would film with no studio audience over coronavirus concerns.
CBS’ Late Show with Stephen Colbert is joining its NBC late-night counterparts in suspending production. “The Late Show has postponed production on the three original episodes scheduled for next week, which lead into a previously scheduled hiatus,” the network said in a statement. “We will continue to monitor the situation closely with plans to return on Monday, March 30.”
By the way Joy Behar said she's taking a hiatus from "The View."
“I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy,” Joy said on the show. “I don’t look my age, but I’m actually up there. The number makes me dizzy.”
Joy will not appear on “The View” next week, and then she’ll decide when she'll return after that.
The Upfronts have been cancelled too.
Fox, ABC and The CW — like CBS and NBC — have decided to scrap their annual live Fall TV Upfront presentations, due to concerns about the coronavirus outbreak.
On Monday, May 11, Fox will “host a digital presentation for the advertising community to preview the latest programming and schedule,” instead of trotting out stars and numbers wonks at the Beacon Theatre. On Thursday, May 14, The CW will forgo a star-studded affair at the New York City Center to instead pursue “an alternative plan to communicate its strategy and schedule to ad buyers and industry journalists.”
Several TV shows like "Grey's Anatomy," "The Price Is Right," "Family Feud," and "America's Got Talent" have stopped filming as well. Here's a full list of cancelled shows so far (via Deadline):
