Four seasons in, Issa Rae’s hit HBO comedy series “Insecure” nabs an EMMY Award. Celebrate with the cast – Crip-Walk dance and all – inside…
It’s about TIME!
The Television Academy is finally realizing what we’ve all known for a few years now – “Insecure” is BOMB AF!
The hit HBO comedy series scooped up eight Primetime EMMY nominations this year. While the show should have won the Outstanding Comedy Series award, they did come home with one win. The “Insecure” episode “Lowkey Trying” won the Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series award! This mark’s the show’s very first EMMY Award.
WOOT!
”Insecure” creator Issa Rae – who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy, watched the 2020 EMMYs from inside the Los Angeles Chargers’ new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood yesterday with the cast and crew, including “Insecure” producer Deniese Davis, actors Jay Ellis (who plays love interest Lawrence Walker), Jean Elie (who plays Issa’s brother Ahmal Dee), Wade Allain-Marcus (who plays Derek DuBois) and Kendrick Sampson (who plays Nathan Turner).
“This has been such a special night, and I’m so excited to celebrate with my cast and crew,” Issa said in a social media video. “Thank you, SoFi Stadium. Go Emmys!”

Looking ever so gorge and comfortable, Issa rocked a bright orange custom gown by Sergio Hudson paired with Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals before changing into a pair of Nike sneakers, styled by Jason Rembert.

Aye!
Issa’s co-star Yvonne Orji – who was up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series – looked absolutely STUNNING in an Azzi and Osta gown, Christian Louboutin heels and David Yurman jewels:
SLAYED for the Fashion Gawds!
”Insecure” star Christina Elmore (who plays Condola Hayes) was the real-life version of “if taking your role serious was a person.” The “Twenties” actress showed off her baby bump during Issa’s Emmy stadium party:
Congrats!

Issa talked about what happened after her first Hollywood television pitch. The powers that be tried to tell Issa what the viewers wanted to see, but that only fueled her to keep pushing and bring stories to television we REALLY want to see. Peep the clip above.
