Family and friends are mourning the death of a loved one after he was reportedly shot and killed by a Texas police officer while trying to break up a domestic violence situation.

The fight continued outside where the unidentified man assaulted Jonathan. The police were called and when they pulled up on the scene, Jonathan reportedly put his hands up, but was tasered and then shot to death. According to civil rights lawyer Lee Merritt, after he was tasered his body convulsed from the electrical current, which they “perceived a threat” and shot him to death.
I spoke with Jonathan Price’s mom.....as you can expect, she’s heartbroken. She rushed to the scene Saturday night after her son was shot and killed by police.

No video footage of the incident has been released…yet. Let’s hope the officers didn’t destroy the evidence.

Jonathan was a sports coach, a motivational speaker, trainer, professional athlete and community advocate. He didn’t deserve to die this way.
Months before his death - amid the George Floyd protests - Jonathan shared a post on Facebook, praising the police. In the post, he also expressed his love for the white family that helped raised him, who was responsible for his "obsession of white women," and said he had never experienced racism from police.

Hopefully, the people he held in such high regard will go to bat for his murder. The group of people he was defending has a member who took his life for apparently no reason.
The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on leave pending the results of the investigation, according to Wolfe County officials:

“He had a good heart. He always tried to help others,” Jonathan's mother, Marcella Louis, said. “They took my son from me. They took my baby.”

Want some proof? My friend tried to break up a fight between a man and a woman at a gas station, bc that’s how we were raised. Don’t put your hands on a woman. Yet he was singled out in the fight, shot and killed... unarmed... no weapon... just his skin color. https://t.co/rvY2k49Tz1

I am certain of it... so is everyone else in that predominantly white, country town of 1400 people... including my friends, who are white, that were with him when it happened... now is not the time to come at me with bs like this. Take a step back. https://t.co/ACmiiP48D9

What’s really sickening is that he was doing the right thing... he saw a man putting his hands on a woman and stepped in to stop the altercation. The man then fought him... then the police shot him. He was unarmed. I’m heartbroken. https://t.co/9eaUUbz3Il

The former MLB player also launched a GoFundMe account to help his family pay for his funeral arrangeents. As of the time of this post, the fund has raised over $50,000:
Thank you to everyone who shared or donated to the GoFundMe account for Jonathon... we just surpassed $50,000 in less than 24 hours. Thank you for your love and compassion.

HSU head coach Jesse Burleson tweeted:
Lost one of our own in a terrible situation. Jonathan Price was an awesome young man during his time with Cowboy Football. Was only with us for a short time in 2008 but was always a Cowboy. Prayers for comfort and peace for Jonathan’s family. #CowboyBrother

While most people agree he shouldn't have died at the hands of police, people are pointing out how it doesn't matter WHO YOU ARE when you're black. Police see your black skin and automatically feel "threatened," which was always the narrative those Jonathan seemingly disagreed with were trying to get across:
Message to all the Different Negroes: they will still kill yo' ass. And sleep well. #JonathanPrice still deserves justice, but gotDAMN I hate he had to find out the hardest way possible. pic.twitter.com/qpMhzYSsqC

Black women shouldn't be surprised about Jonathan Price. Remember Stephon Clarke? You see all the hateful speech these derelicts hurl towards us?
Spirit is showing bms that throwing Black women under the bus will NOT save them.

Jonathan Price of TX put up a Facebook post months ago DEFENDING racist cops, & bragging about his addiction to white women. He also bragged about how his 2nd family (who are white) are so great..And how his biological family are trash.
